I went to a food show last week and tried a blended cheese that works really well in our Detroit style pizza. It’s closer to the style of cheese used in a Detroit. It’s a blend of mozzarella, white cheddar and a touch of buffalo milk cheese.

We will be using this in our Detroit style instead of the mozzarella. If anyone wants this cheese blend on their hand tossed style we can put it on there but with the higher cost of the cheese it will be .75 added to the cost of the hand tossed pizza’s regular price.

FREE PIZZA: LIMITED SUPPLY

Just curious: Today, August 1, we are firing up the oven to do some experimenting on a style of pizza we are thinking about offering. We have our version of a “Detroit” that we want to try out. I emphasize that it is our version. True lovers of Detroit will say it is not a Detroit and that’s ok. It is our “take” on a Detroit.

Now, if you would like to try a slice, come by the pizza shop today between 6:00 and 7:00 and we will be giving slices away: only asking for your feedback in return.

Number of slices will be limited based on the amount of dough we have prepared. The phone will be turned off, we are not taking orders. This is an “if you are in town” and want to try a slice, come on by.

Friday night (May 15) is Covington High School graduation. We will be closed. One employee, Seth Baze (congrats Seth) is graduating and two other employees are in high school and are helping at the graduation. So we will not have enough staff to be open. So come see us Thursday of this week and while you are there, be sure to tell Seth "Congratulations."

Here's an article I saw and, of course, had to stop and check out. Some good ideas in it and I especially agree with #2 and # 7. I'm more of the persuasion that three toppings max is best and "box time" is not good for a pizza. In some ways I wish we had sit down so our customers could enjoy a pizza right out of the oven, (given sufficient time to cool). I think our pizza is best enjoyed after it has just cooled enough to bite into. Give it a read and see what you think.

Best I can determine there was a problem with the cell service yesterday afternoon and on into the evening. The Pit Stop Pizza was open but experiencing problems with our phone. Sorry if you tried to call and order and could not get through. We are open tonight and hopefully no problems with the phone tonight. So if you missed out last night, give us a call today. Thanks

We have had people ask us about selling wings. We do not have a fryer and the baked wings we have tried just don't seem to be the same. We have been experimenting with chicken bites and these seem to cook well in our oven. We currently have BBQ and Buffalo sauces. $7.00. if you try them, let us know what you think if we should continue offering these.

With the current weather projection Pit Stop Pizza will be open tonight (1-23-26). If the freezing temps do come sooner and make the roads bad then we will let the staff go on home and close, but it looks like it will be rainy and the roads will be fine until after our usual time we close. So I think it is a great night for a pizza! I'll be having one. How about you.

Welcome to 2026! The way the dates fell in 2025 it was a weird end of the year for us here at Pit Stop Pizza. We missed seeing everyone by being closed because of the holidays.

But the routine begins again and we are open tonight and looking forward to seeing everyone again. May 2026 be a good year and we still have coupons for a free pizza for any who need one. They will be outside on the sidewalk so if you need a pizza to start your year off and are tight on money come by and take one of the coupons off the board and bring to the window and place your order.
