There are honestly no words big enough to express how grateful I am to Outlaw BBQ and everyone involved in their 4th Annual Cancer Fundraiser.

When I first heard that they had chosen to support me and my family during this difficult time, it touched my heart in a way I will never be able to fully explain.

As the owner of Midsouth BBQ, I know what it means to work hard, build a small-town business, and pour your heart into your community. Outlaw BBQ and Midsouth BBQ may have different names on our buildings, but this has reminded me that we are all part of the same community—and when one of us is hurting, we come together.

Cancer doesn’t care about competition, businesses, or differences. It doesn’t care who you are. But neither does kindness. And the kindness that Outlaw BBQ has shown me is something I will carry with me forever.

To the entire Outlaw BBQ family: Thank you for standing beside me. Thank you for helping me when I need it most. Thank you for giving me hope and reminding me that I am not fighting this fight alone.

And to every single person who has donated, shared, prayed, supported, or simply taken a moment to think of me and my family—thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every dollar, every prayer, every kind word means more than you know.

I may be facing a hard road ahead, but I am surrounded by an incredible community, an amazing family, and so many people who are lifting me up.

This is what small-town love looks like. ❤️

Thank you, Outlaw BBQ, for showing me that sometimes the biggest competitors can become the biggest supporters when it matters most.

We hope everyone has enjoyed this Labor Day. Just a reminder, we will be closing at 5 today to give our employees time to spend with their families. We appreciate everyone’s support!

I would like to apologize for not having the Texas Tw***ie Eggrolls on the menu Friday like I said I would have. Also, I’ve had people asking about us being open on Saturday’s.

I’ve recently found out I have cancer. This past week I have been put through the wringer on having test done and will have my first surgery Tuesday. I had an unexpected appointment Friday that I didn’t even know until Thursday afternoon thus the reason I couldn’t make more Eggrolls as promised. It bothered me I said I would have them and then couldn’t be there to make them.

Nothing will change at the restaurant and it will continue to run as it always has with the help of my daughter Jess Essary and my wonderful staff.

Now for being open on Saturday’s, I will need to get over this hurdle and get staff in place and I hope to be open in the near future. That’s my plan at least.

We appreciate all our wonderful customers and ask for prayers as I go through this battle. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate through this next chapter of my life.

It has been a very very busy day today. We have had to turn online ordering off due to us running low on bbq. We will still be open till 7 even if we run out of bbq, we still have lots of other options to order. Thank y’all so much for your business. We couldn’t do it without all you wonderful customers!!!
