Sometimes the restaurant business gives you some pretty cool full-circle moments.
A couple weeks ago we were popping up at Parliament Brewery and I noticed a couple guys eating with Cattlemen’s jackets on. After I brought their food out and checked to make sure everything was up to their standards, I asked if they worked for Cattlemen’s.
They did.
So naturally I had to tell them how much I appreciate the Rohnert Park location and the crew there. After a long cater or pop-up, Cattlemen’s has become one of my go-to spots for a late dinner. I’ve walked in tired, hungry and smelling like smoke more times than I can count, and they always take care of me.
But Cattlemen’s goes back way further than WarPigs for me.
I’ve been going there for 30+ years. We used to go to the Montgomery Village location, and I was legitimately sad when that place closed. When they announced they were taking over the old Outback spot in Rohnert Park, I wasn’t sure it was going to feel the same.
I went in a little hesitant.
Turns out I had nothing to worry about.
Over the years Cattlemen’s has somehow remained one of those places you go for birthdays, celebrations, family dinners — and now, for me, those late-night meals after a long day feeding everybody else.
Then this showed up in the mail.
Thank you to the Cattlemens Steakhouse crew for the VIP card and, more importantly, for a lot of good meals and memories over the years.
I appreciate y’all. 🤘🐷
