The two devastating earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5, have left Venezuela with a broken heart. Countless families have lost loved ones, many children have been left orphaned, and many beloved pets are still missing.

Now is the time to come together as a blessed nation and help those who need us the most.

Across many parts of the United States, humanitarian aid centers are collecting donations for those affected by this tragedy.

With broken hearts, we want every person suffering in Venezuela to know that your pain is our pain. A part of us will never be the same after this tragedy.

Venezuela, we love you, and even from afar, we stand with you.

If you are able to donate or visit a humanitarian aid center, please let us know, and we will gladly provide you with the nearest donation location.

In Columbus, Ohio, several donation centers are currently accepting clothing, shoes, medications, non-perishable food, pet food, and many other essential supplies.

* Non-perishable food

* Blankets
* And many other essential supplies.

Thousands of people have been affected after the two powerful earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 struck Venezuela, causing devastating loss of life and widespread destruction.

Now is the time to open our hearts and come together to support the families and communities that have lost so much.

After a great deal of thought, we want to share that Johanna’s Latin American Bistro has closed its doors for good.

To our customers: thank you. Truly. Your support, kind words, and willingness to try something different meant more to us than you’ll ever know. We were proud to serve this community and grateful for every meal shared, every conversation, and every familiar face that walked through our doors.

I want to especially thank our dedicated kitchen staff — Jose, Yenny, and Angelica — whose hard work, consistency, and heart showed up every single day. You brought care and pride to the food, and it did not go unnoticed. Thank you as well to Keely, who kept the bar running with professionalism and warmth, and to others who helped us along the way behind the scenes.

As much as we believed in the vision, the reality of rising food costs, labor expenses, and overall operating costs made it impossible for the restaurant to become profitable. Sometimes hard work and passion simply aren’t enough to overcome the economics of the moment.

Although the restaurant has closed, the space itself is still available. The restaurant and outdoor patio (once the weather improves) may be rented for parties, weddings, and other private events.

This closing comes with sadness, but also with gratitude — for the people, the effort, and the experience. Thank you for being part of the journey.
