Well, if you're coming to tea soon, we sincerely apologize for the appearance of the house... and now the yard. 😅
Remember that hailstorm we had back in March of last year? After a year and three months of battling insurance companies, public adjusters, paperwork, delays, and two different contractors, work has finally begun on the storm damage!
It's been an absolute nightmare.
Our new contractors started last week, somehow managing to dodge the monsoon-level rain we've been having, and are finally getting started on the siding that's been sitting in our driveway for the past two weeks.
Then, because apparently the universe wasn't quite finished with us yet, Jeff and I were out of town until last night for a week at his work conference when, in the very early morning hours, someone under the influence drove through our neighbor's yard and hit their parked truck, sending it into our yard and completely destroying our front fence and much of our décor.
So yes, things are looking a little "under construction" around here at the moment.
But I promise that while we may be a bit of a mess on the outside, it's still pure magic on the inside. Once you step through the door of The Old Capitol Tea Room, you'll be transported into one of our spectacular themed events, where the teacups are full, the treats are delicious, and construction chaos fades away for a few hours.
Thank you for your patience as we navigate yet another chapter in the adventures of this old house. We can't wait to welcome you!
