Due to water Main break in the Town Of Corydon the cafe will have to close for the rest of the day. We should be open again tomorrow.

We are open today; however, we need to rally behind our neighbors! Several local shops and establishments recently suffered flooding. As they work hard to clean up and reopen, please make a conscious effort to shop at their stores and eat at the restaurants. It takes a community to keep us all afloat-let's show them the strength of ours!

Fredericks Cafe made it unscathed through this first stage of the flood๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’œ all of our staff are safe, except for one individual whose home was washed away in the flood. She is in our thoughts tonight.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected today, and we hope the additional rain thatโ€™s coming doesnโ€™t cause too many more problems, as we all pull together as a community to overcome this.

We will be open tomorrow from 7 to 2 PM, ready to provide comfort and a warm meal. I should clarify that will be dependent upon the Town being open๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

********Just to clear up some confusion..this was not a public event or an event of any sort. This was a private family celebration which we were honored to be a part of. These pictures and this post were posted with Miss Dorothy's permission.

Some of you might have noticed a few "famous" cars outside the cafe a few weeks ago. We were excited and honored to host the family and friends of Corydon's own James Best. They gathered to remember his death on April 6th 2015 and an early celebration of what would be his 100th birthday on July 26th. The Dukes of Hazzard was one of our favorite shows growing up. Roscoe was one of our favorite characters and what a character he was! We always felt special because we knew "Roscoe" was from Corydon. It was quite an experience to see all these cars and meet his wife Ms Dorothy and daughters Janeen and Jojami, sister-in-law Mary Jane and all the friends who joined them. They came from Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia to pay their respects at his grave site. They ended the day with James favorite pie-cherry, made by Elvins Bakery. We know there were a lot of pictures taken by folks but here are some more to enjoy. Photo credit to GKW Photography..thanks Georgie!!
