I’m struggling to find the words today, because losing Richard feels like losing a part of my heart.
Richard wasn’t just my brother—he was my best friend. The one I laughed with, leaned on, prayed with, and did life alongside. He knew me in a way only a brother can, and he loved me in a way that never wavered. No matter what season I was in, Richard was always there—steady, loyal, and full of grace.
He loved deeply and lived faithfully. The way he poured into his wife and those five boys was nothing short of inspiring. Being a father wasn’t something he just did—it was who he was. He led his family with humility, strength, and a heart anchored in Christ.
Richard had a gift for people. Every interaction mattered to him. He made you feel seen, heard, and valued, whether you’d known him for years or had just met him. His kindness was genuine, his laughter contagious, and his presence brought peace.
Most of all, Richard lived out the love of Jesus boldly every single day. Not in hidden ways, but through conviction, compassion, and courage. He showed me—and so many others—what it looks like to stand firm in Christ and love people without condition.
My heart breaks for his wife, his boys, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. We will miss him more than words can express, but his legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the Jesus he proclaimed so faithfully.
I love you, brother. Forever.
