Some seasons are hard to let go of and some seasons are exciting to see start. We as a family have decided to shut down The Stirring @ 403. Originally we were going to only shut down for the end of December and all of January, but have since decided to shut down for good. Many things went into this decision (ie utility costs for our old building, supply costs and availability, a new coffee bar in town, expanding family, and just a feeling of tiredness from the last couple of years with the pandemic).
Does it bring us sadness…of course…but as we reflect on the last 3-4 years we can’t help to feel joy at the same time. We were able to give life to a 100yr old building and give it a few more years, we have seen old friends be reunited within our walls, people turn a year older with a birthday party, Seniors celebrate their last year of High School, the formation of The Curmudgeon group (Sandy’s new Grandpas), live bands performing their music, family get togethers, and probably our favorite is watching our daughter get married.
Now to our Community of Correctionville…
We Thank You for supporting us!
We could not have lasted this long without you. We have gained so many new friends and acquaintances that we will never forget. We appreciate each and every one of you!
We don’t know what the future holds for The Castles but we know that we are going to spend time with family and start enjoying a cup of coffee with each other. Our kids are sick of hearing it, but our families motto has always been “Try to leave it better than you found it”. We hope and pray we have done that.
Our last day to be open to the public will be the day/night of Jingle Thru The Jog (Fri Dec 10th). Come out and join us this Fri & Sat for Rural Route Ramble as well.
Thank You, God Bless, and we wish you a very Merry Christmas!
