As a home baker, I’m not permitted to make/sell treats and cakes for pets. BUT I can share my super simple and inexpensive recipe that I make every year for this diabolical duo 😉
CAKE
1 cup flour (plain or wheat)
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup mashed banana (about 2 large)
1/4 cup vegetable oil (or coconut, or olive)
1 egg
1 tbs honey
FROSTING
1 small package instant plain 100% potatoes mix
PLAIN Greek yogurt (about 1/4 cup but check consistency)
In one bowl, mix flour and baking soda. In a separate bowl mash banana well, add other wet ingredients and mix very well. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix completely. Divide batter between to sprayed 4 inch baking pans and bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Wrap, Set aside and cool completely.
For the frosting make instant potatoes according to instructions, add Greek yogurt until you have a smooth and thick consistency, you may add honey as well if you’d like.
Frost cakes when frosting is warm (not hot) for a smooth coat finish. Frosting may be piped as well and looks and holds up amazingly!
*PLEASE NOTE*
Read your ingredient lists carefully. Be sure there are no artificial flavors or sweeteners in your potatoes or yogurt. Sprinkles on my cake were pet-friendly and purchased from Amazon.
