This morning was a little more emotional than we expected. 🥹☕️

Our sweet barista, Cambry, stopped by Backgrounds with her mom one last time before heading off to college, and we’re definitely not ready to say goodbye!

Cambry has been such an amazing addition to our team, and we are so thankful for all the hard work, joy, and personality she has brought to Backgrounds. We are SO proud of you, Cambry, and can’t wait to watch you take on this next chapter!

Wishing you the very best as you head off to college — and just remember, you better come visit us every time you’re home! 🤎

Some of the best recipes don’t begin in a restaurant—they begin around the family table. Aunt tortilla Salsa originated in 2010.

For Tory Miers, making salsa has always been about bringing people together. Family gatherings, backyard cookouts, football Saturdays, and holidays were never complete without a bowl of her fresh, homemade salsa at the center of the table. Before long, friends began asking if they could take a jar home, and then they started requesting more for their own family gatherings.

What started as a cherished family recipe soon became Aunt Tortilla’s Salsa.

Tory believes great salsa doesn’t need shortcuts—just quality ingredients, time, and a recipe made with care. Every batch reflects the same homemade flavor and attention to detail that made it a favorite in her own kitchen.

Today, Aunt Tortilla’s Salsa continues to bring people together one jar at a time. Whether it’s served at a neighborhood gathering, shared as a gift, or enjoyed around the dinner table, every jar carries the same warmth, hospitality, and homemade goodness that inspired it from the very beginning.
