I hope all of our kiddos had the BEST first day back to school! 🍎✏️❤️
I’ll admit, this back-to-school season feels a little bittersweet. The last few years of getting my classroom ready and welcoming those little faces through the door, I definitely miss teaching — but more than anything, I miss my kiddos. 🥹❤️
At the same time, this new chapter has given me something I’m incredibly grateful for… more time to just be Mom. I get to work alongside my own kids, be there when they’re done with school, have them pop into the store, do the everyday Mom things, and actually be available when they call or text. Those little moments mean so much to me.
And the last few weeks have reminded me that leaving the classroom didn’t mean leaving my school families behind. ❤️ So many of my former students stopped by the store before starting their new school year just to see me, get a hug, and tell me what they were excited about. Then yesterday, I had parents messaging me saying their kiddos were asking about me on the way to their first day and already wanted to come by Peach Cobbler Factory after school to see me. 🥹 Talk about melting my heart!
One of the sweetest parts of this adventure has been seeing so many of my former students and their families continue to stop by, give hugs, catch me up on life, and support our family. And now I get the chance to build relationships with the whole family, not just the little one who sat in my classroom. ❤️
So while I may not be “Mrs. St. Denis” in the classroom this year, those kiddos and families will always have a special place in my heart.
Once my kiddo, always my kiddo. 🍎❤️
Here’s to an AMAZING school year — and remember, Mrs. St. Denis is always ready for a visit, a hug… and maybe a little banana pudding. 😉🍑
