Come in on a Tuesday and you'll meet the owners. You just might not realize it.

Mady will seat you, take your order, refill your tea, and check on you twice. Jace is the one back there cooking it.

That's it. That's the whole weekday crew, most days. A husband and wife, both raised right here in Habersham County, running a diner they own.

It's not unusual for them. It's how they learned it.

A visitor from out of town left us a review a while back and had no idea what she'd walked into:

💬 "Visiting from out of town & came across this gem. Mady was our server & she was wonderful! With the help of the man from the kitchen. Deviled eggs fried!? Yes please! EXCELLENT CHOICE." — Denise L., Google Local Guide

Her server was an owner. "The man from the kitchen" was the other one.

In culinary school, Jace cooked at the Masters in Augusta — plating for the kind of people you'd recognize from television. These days he cooks for local celebrities instead. The mayor. Your pastor. The lady who's been running the front desk at the clinic for twenty years. The high school baseball team after a road win.

Better crowd, honestly.

In 2024, the Georgia Restaurant Association named him Restaurant Manager of the Year for the entire state — nominated by other restaurant people, handed out at the Georgia Aquarium, up against operators from groups many times our size. He came home and went right back to the line the next morning.

That's why this place has taken Best of Georgia four years running. Not marketing. Jace and Mady Reeder are just two people who out-work everybody.

Fried deviled eggs. The brunch burger sandwiched between two honeybuns. Cathead biscuits. Shrimp and grits. Meatloaf. Country fried steak. Comfort food cooked to order by people who aren't commuting in from somewhere else — they live a block away — you'll see them in line at the grocery store, or across the aisle at church Sunday morning. They cook like they know it.

Come see them on a weekday. Tell them the food was good. They'll be the ones who made it.

🏆 FOUR YEARS. BEST DINER IN GEORGIA.

Fenders Diner has won Best of Georgia — Diners & Cafes four years running. The 2026 ballot is open, and we'd love to make it five.

Here's a review a visitor left us five weeks ago:

Here's what Denise didn't know.

Mady, her server that night, is an owner of this diner. "The man from the kitchen" was Jace — also an owner, and the one who runs that kitchen every day. They're married. They both grew up right here in Habersham County.

So on a busy night, a husband and wife raised in this community were the ones taking the order and working the line. That's not a story we cooked up for a vote post. That's just how this place runs.
