What is something that makes you happy? ❤️

I’ve really been thinking about that question lately.

One thing that genuinely makes me happy is my restaurant. Not because owning a business is easy, but because some days it’s actually one of the hardest, most stressful things I’ve ever done. There are days I’m exhausted, overwhelmed, worried about many things, worried about my employees, worried about making the right decisions… and wondering if I’m doing enough.

But then I look at our Giving Wall.

And I’m reminded of one of the biggest reasons I love what I do.

Knowing that someone who may be struggling can walk through our doors and get a hot, fresh meal without having to feel embarrassed or explain their situation means so much to me. I may not be able to help everyone, and I may not always be able to give as much as I wish I could, but when I’m able to help someone, I want to.

I know what it’s like for life to be hard. I know what it’s like to go through seasons that change you. And I think that’s why being able to give someone even one small moment of comfort means so much to me. Not only have I fed so many people in need out of my own pocket, but so has this community. Thank you for all and anyone who has also donated to help those in need.

Way2Baked is so much more than a restaurant to me. It’s a piece of my heart. It’s given me a way to serve people, love people, and give back to a community that has given so much love to us.

Seeing someone take a meal from that wall doesn’t make me wonder what their story is. It just makes me thankful that, for that moment, we were able to help.

I love my community more than I can explain. ❤️

And if this restaurant is ever remembered for anything, I hope it’s not just the food. I hope people remember that we cared.

That makes me happy. 🫶🏼

We tried to sneak in but we got spotted 👀 and they were so kind to give us a free app, which was absolutely heavenly btw🤤 We got the gunpowder nachos with chicken and steak, the smoked Caesar salad, the campfire signature smashburger with fries, and their hot honey tendies and Mac n cheese. It’s not an exaggeration at all to say that everything was incredibly delicious, but those hot honey tenders and the nachos absolutely stole the show. We don’t get out to Helen much but this was 1000% worth the drive, and we had to force ourselves to stop eating so we wouldn’t get sick🤣 with the free app, we spent around $55 bucks for two! if you haven’t been then you’re missing out on some good eats, go check them out!!!

Bar-B-Q Shack Toccoa, Ga is one of our most favorite BBQ stops, especially for the stew
😩🖤 We got two brisket plates, a half chicken, and a pork plate for there. The stew and beans were piping hot and delicious, slaw was good, the chicken was so juicy, and the brisket and pork were just 🤌🏽 We got our staff 3 pork plates to go and some extra beans and stew, totaling us out at about $133 and we have a good bit to bring home. They were pretty busy when we came in but the staff was very nice and attentive. Make sure to go check them out if you haven’t!
