We're closed this week to do a little refresh of our space and to prepare for a slightly bigger project at the beginning of November!

We will be closed today through Saturday. We will re-open for regular hours on Sunday!

💰 Our first month of Gaming for Good was a resounding success! Our community helped us raise $290 in support of Coralville Community Food Pantry, including a great evening of bingo hosted by Bitchin' Events!

🥳 The party continues into October, where all Gaming for Good goes to support Old Capitol City Roller Derby, the gnarliest and most delightful roller derby team around! 🛼

🤔 How does Gaming for Good work?
Check out any of Diversions' free events and mention 'gaming for good' at checkout to donate the cost of your Gaming Pass ($8) to the featured nonprofit.

⚠️ Are there that many free events?
We offer FREE GAMING every Wednesday & Thursday, in addition to offering free gaming for many other events like Blood on the Clocktower, Second Sunday Social, and more! You can learn more about our free events on our website!

We are so excited to see how Gaming for Good grows!

Locally designed games creating local connections -- we love Burum and have a copy in our game library to try for yourself!

After teaching Burum to a group at Cottage Grove Place, some residents added a weekly game time to their activities to teach it to more friends.

Game for Good at Diversions in support of Coralville Community Food Pantry throughout September!

In addition to offering free gaming on Wednesdays and Thursdays, we invite gamers to pay it forward by donating the value of their gaming pass to a different local nonprofit every month! We are excited to be featuring our neighborhood food pantry, which we also will be supporting by running mini-speed-puzzling for their upcoming Y2K Prom Party!! (See last slide for deets!)

"Gaming for Good" is available at any of our free events, and each month will also feature a Bitchin' Bingo night (hosted by the magnificent Btchin' Events), with half of all entry fees and ALL additional bingo cards going to support the nonprofit of the month!

This effort is rooted in the years Sean and Nolan have spent doing community organizing locally (and beyond), and seeing the ever-present support needed to keep essential resources available for many in our community.
