🔥 Get ready for a Texas-sized celebration as Cowboys 4 Heroes returns for its seventh year, serving up mouthwatering free barbecue for our service members 10:30 a.m.–2 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Phantom Warrior Center in building 194 on 37th Street at Fort Hood.

What we have in store:

• Delicious barbecue cooked and served by Cowboys 4 Heroes.

• Bumpers and BBQ Car Show featuring classic and custom rides.

• Family-friendly activities and arts and crafts tents.

• Local vendors plus food and beverage sales.

Today, Copperas Cove celebrated a milestone years in the making.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Copperas Cove VA Outpatient Clinic marked an important moment for our veterans, our community, and everyone who has worked to move this project forward.

Getting to this point took years of work, paperwork, coordination, conversations, and energy from people across our community and beyond. Today, we got to celebrate the progress together.

And there is more work ahead. Construction and staffing will take time, with completion expected in Winter 2029.

When the clinic opens, veterans in Copperas Cove and the surrounding area will have access to a wide range of services closer to home, reducing travel time for care.

Services are expected to include:

• Primary care
• Women’s clinic
• Imaging
• Dental
• Endoscopy
• Social work
• Prosthetics
• Cardiology
• Mental health
• Eye clinic
• Whole health
• Audiology and speech pathology
• Dermatology
• Pulmonology

This project represents a significant investment in the veterans who live in our community and the future of Copperas Cove.

We are proud to celebrate this moment with our community and grateful to everyone who helped bring this project to the groundbreaking stage.

Today was about celebrating how far we have come.

Now, we keep moving forward.

👋 What exactly does the Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation do?

The CCEDC has been working for Copperas Cove since 1990, when local citizens voted to create the organization.

Today, we are a Type A Economic Development Corporation. That designation comes with specific responsibilities and restrictions under Texas law. It means we have guidelines for the types of businesses, projects, and incentives we can support.

So, what does that look like in Copperas Cove?

🏢 Recruiting new businesses and industries
💼 Supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs
👷 Developing our local workforce
📈 Encouraging business investment and expansion
🏗️ Supporting eligible economic development projects
🤝 Connecting businesses with resources and partners

Sober Sips had a fantastic time hosting the drinking contest and the Bitburger N.A. was a big hit!!! Das Boot!

The last contests of the day are so much fun. So many people gather around and cheer each other on. It’s one big party with a ton of friends.
