Many of you may remember Felicia as one of our waitresses when Tyler and I first took over the café. But to us, Felicia is so much more than that. ❤️
Felicia, her sister Arielle (my sister-in-law), and I have all grown up together, and we’ve always considered ourselves more like sisters than friends. This year brought something so incredibly special—we were all three pregnant at the same time. We talked about our babies, dreamed about them growing up together, and were so excited to watch that next chapter of our lives unfold side by side.
Unfortunately, on August 21st, Felicia and Mark experienced a loss no parent should ever have to endure. Their beautiful baby girl, NovaLee, was stillborn at 41½ weeks, just before they were supposed to bring her home.
Since NovaLee’s passing, Felicia has also faced serious medical complications and has had to be readmitted to the hospital. Instead of these weeks being filled with newborn snuggles and adjusting to life at home with their baby girl, Felicia and Mark have been faced with grief, medical care, funeral arrangements, and expenses they never could have imagined.
A GoFundMe has been created to help with NovaLee’s funeral and burial expenses, as well as Felicia’s medical expenses. I wanted to share it here because I know so many people in our little community know and love Felicia.
Please do not feel obligated to donate. But if you feel led to give, I know it would mean more to their family than words can say. Donations can also be dropped off at the Cafe if you would rather do that than the GoFundMe. If donating isn’t possible, sharing their GoFundMe or simply keeping Felicia, Mark, and their entire family in your thoughts and prayers means just as much. ❤️
Our hearts are absolutely broken for people we love so dearly. NovaLee was already so loved, so wanted, and so incredibly special. She will forever be their daughter, our niece, and a precious part of our family.
