“Zen Authentic Thai & Sushi” is the realization of our efforts and vision to encapsulate the spirit of Thailand and to bring its magnificence and elegance to North Bend, Oregon.

In Thailand, food is the central focus of people’s lives. It is believed that life should be “sanuk” (enjoyable) and “sabai” (comfortable and relaxed), and as such, the pleasures of relaxing and eating with family and friends is of the utmost importance. In virtually every aspect of their lives, from simple get-togethers to important ceremonies, food is at the heart of it all.

Thai cooking is very distinct. Its rich textures and aromatic qualities are easily identifiable and what gives Thai food its distinctive character is a harmony in its tastes. The traditional taste of Thai food lies in the combination of four key tastes; sweet, salty, sour and bitter which balance together to give you its exquisite taste. In Thai cooking, specific herbs are used, such as lemongrass, kaffir lime, galangal, Thai basil and mint along with pastes such as nam pla (fish paste) and kapi (shrimp paste).
