Cookeville is my home base—but Auntie Tee is taking the cookies on the road! 🍪

Once I’m back home and have cookie stock ready, I want to visit one nearby town each month. Cookeville will still have its own dedicated cookie day.

So where should I go first: Sparta, Crossville, Gainesboro, or another town close to Cookeville?

I can bring the cookie camper or set up a simple table inside a local store. Tag a business that might like to host me, or send me a message if it’s yours.

Throwback Sunday.
Found this in the archives. 😂 When my husband and I were first building Better Butter Cookie Company, we made our own little vintage commercial. Two years later, so much has changed—but apparently Auntie Tee was already Auntie Tee.

A little Sabbath check-in from Washington. The meal is made, Sukkot is on my heart, and I’m still deciding whether this cold rain is going to let us sit outside. 😅

And to everybody who’s reached out asking when Better Butter cookies are coming back: I hear you, and I miss y’all too. I’m looking at the second week of October. Once I get home, I’ll need time to make dough and rebuild my stock—there isn’t a cookie waiting on the shelf!

While I’m away, the owner of Longhorn Coffee Trailer is holding down the cookie conversation for me! She tried three Better Butter cookies, and I’m sharing her honest review with you.

I’ll be back soon—and yes, I’ve seen your messages saying you’ve got a hankering for cookies. I’ve missed y’all too. Just give Auntie Tee a minute when I get home: I don’t have one cookie sitting around. I’ve got dough to make before I can open back up!

My mother-in-law had already put many important things in order. Her wishes were clear, her children trusted one another, and they worked together beautifully.

But even when someone has prepared, there can still be practical details to locate, belongings to sort through, and decisions nobody thinks about until they are standing in the middle of a loved one’s home.

We worked everything out as a family, but the experience opened my eyes. It showed me a few things I want to handle differently in my own life—while I am healthy, clearheaded, and able to explain my wishes myself.

This video is not about criticizing what anyone did or did not do. And I’m certainly not trying to be morbid. These are simply things I didn’t fully understand until I lived through the process.

So I’m sharing what I learned in case you haven’t thought about it either.

Because none of us enjoys thinking about these things—but putting them off doesn’t make them disappear.

You usually see me in the kitchen, but right now I’m away from home, helping my family and finding my way through a very different kind of work. I’m still here. Still creating. Still building Better Butter.
