An official update regarding the reopening of Tavas to address and clarify any circulating rumors.
First of all, it is essential to note that the established recipes, proven over 25 years, have remained unchanged. Why alter them when the effectiveness has been successful over a span of 25 years?
The expiration of a 5-year lease led to relocation, as the new owners opted not to renew being that Tavas was right in the middle of the shopping center preventing construction plans for the storage facility. Dollar Tree and Goodwill both remain uncertain about renewal options once their lease expires.
After a well-deserved break, all requisite documents to secure the previous shrimp shack location were submitted. Despite the elapsed months, progress is pending, as relayed in my recent conversation with the new leasing company approximately a week ago. The procedural pace has been slow, and if prolonged, I am contemplating a post-holiday reopening to avoid any stress during this festive season. Rest assured, plans for reopening persist regardless of the ongoing wait.

Update!
So far, the old Shrimp Shack in the Kroger Shopping Center is the favored new location for Tavas. Negotiating and working out the details.
Still need some time off but hoping for a late July or early August Opening.
It’ll be a slightly smaller setting with a different atmosphere but will always have the same delicious food from the same recipes used for over 25 years! Of course will have the friendly service too!
One door closes and another opens! Looking forward to a new beginning!

Tavas would like to thank the community for over 25 years of support! Thanks for being there through all the ups and downs of Covid and helping us get back on track. Without you we couldn't have overcome the obstacles.
On a personal note my deepest appreciation from the bottom of my heart goes out to you, the customer and to the dedicated, hard working team who stuck by my side over the last few years. The struggle through covid was tough and seems like everything came at me on a daily basis. Felt like I made it through the storm and saw the rainbow shining through. However, had another little problem pop up. The lease is ending at Tavas. A new company purchased the shopping center and they are using the entire building for a storage facility. For this reason, Tavas will be relocating. I’m still looking at locations in the area but not made the decision as to which place will be the next Tavas. Keep an eye on Facebook and at Tavaspizza.com for updates and more info. Any location suggestions will be appreciated!
Tavas will be closing at the end of March. Temporarily, of course. So don’t worry! Taking a month or two off while looking for a new location.
