🎂 We’re Still Here for Your Special Occasions!

Life has looked a little different around Blue Barn Bakery during this season of caregiving, but one thing hasn’t changed — we still love being a small part of your special moments. 💙

We’re still here making birthday cakes and helping you celebrate the birthdays, milestones, and moments that deserve something sweet.

Our schedule may look a little different these days, and availability may sometimes be limited, but Blue Barn Bakery is still baking! 🎂

Thank you to everyone who has continued to reach out, place orders, check on us, and show so much understanding and kindness during this season. It means more than you know.

So if you have a special birthday coming up, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’ll continue taking orders as our schedule allows and doing what we’ve always loved doing — helping make your celebrations a little sweeter.

I’ve heard a few people think we’ve closed… we haven’t. 🤍

I’m just in a heavy caregiving season right now, and it’s not something I can balance full-time with the bakery. But I’m still here, still baking when I can, and still showing up for you the best I can.

You can order online, or text me directly at 501.404.8687 or email [email protected].

I truly miss being open and seeing your faces. Thank you for loving and supporting me through this season—it means everything. ❤️‍🩹🩵

May is Celiac Awareness Month, and this is your reminder that celiac disease is recognized as a disability in the U.S. under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

When we've posted about this in the past, we have seen a wide range of reactions within our community. Some feel validated due to how disruptive celiac disease is, and recognize the importance of legal protections in environments like school. Other folks don’t personally feel “disabled enough” for this label and to be honest, conversations around identity and disability can be deeply personal and complicated. But regardless of how someone identifies, this legal recognition exists to provide important protections in a variety of settings.

Because celiac disease is an impairment that affects the major life activity of eating, as well as major bodily functions including the digestive, immune, and neurological systems, the ADA may require reasonable accommodations in many situations. This recognition helps protect access, safety, and inclusion throughout different stages of life.

Knowing your rights can help you advocate for the accommodations you or your loved one may need. We have a few webinars with attorneys who specialize in disability discrimination; you can reach out to us for links or find them on our YouTube or at nationalceliac.org/nca-webinars/
