🍋 THANK YOU FOR 4 AMAZING YEARS, MAK’S LEMON! 🍋

Well… this one is a little bittersweet to write. Mak’s Lemon has officially been sold, and after four summers, this chapter of our family’s story has come to an end.

Four years ago, we started with an idea. We really had no clue what we were doing 😂 — we just knew we wanted to try something together. Over the years, we learned, grew, changed things, made mistakes, celebrated great weekends and definitely made it through our share of sour times. 🍋

But every bit of it was worth it.

I never thought I would love making lemonade so much. But somewhere along the way, it stopped being just about lemonade. It became about the people we met, the places we went, the long days together, the laughs, the stress, the inside jokes and all those little moments we probably didn’t realize would become memories we’d miss someday.

Most of all, Mak’s Lemon gave us something to do together as a family. We worked side by side, learned together and grew closer because of it. That alone made every long, hot, exhausting summer day worth it.

And maybe my favorite thought of all is knowing that someday our kids might be sitting with their own kids or even grandkids and say, “When we were growing up, we had a lemonade stand that we ran together every summer.” 🥹🍋

How cool is that?

We didn’t just sell lemonade for four years. We gave our kids a story they’ll get to tell for the rest of their lives. And we gave ourselves memories that no one can ever take away.

To every single person who stopped at our window, bought a lemonade, came back year after year, shared our posts, recommended us, helped us work an event or simply cheered us on — thank you. You were part of Mak’s Lemon too.

Selling it is definitely bittersweet, but I know it’s time for someone else to make their own memories with it.

It was sweet. It was sour. It was crazy, exhausting and sometimes stressful… but most of all, it was ours. And I wouldn’t trade these last four years for anything. 🍋💛

Here’s to the end of one really special chapter.

We honestly don’t even know what to say. 🥹💛

Reading every single one of your comments has brought tears to our eyes. We made this post simply to help people understand why Makaila wears her headphones, but what we got back was so much more than understanding.

You all saw her. You saw her kindness, her smile, her hard work, and the heart she puts into every lemonade she hands across that counter.

As parents, there’s always that little worry about how the world will treat your child. This week, you all reminded us that there are so many good people out there. Thank you for loving on our girl, encouraging her, and making her feel like she belongs exactly where she is.

Every kind word, every smile, every lemonade you buy helps make Mak’s Lemon more than just a lemonade stand. It’s become a place where our family—and especially Makaila—can shine.

From the bottom of our hearts… thank you for supporting our family, believing in our dream, and making Mak’s Lemon feel like home. We are beyond grateful. 🍋💛🥹

Well… y’all have officially messed with my emotions. 😂🍋

Running a small business isn’t just about making lemonade. It’s long days, sore backs, sticky hands, hundreds of lemons, and wondering if all the hard work is worth it. The truth is, businesses like ours don’t survive without family.

This week, I have been beyond blessed. My cousin, her family, and my brother have all stepped in to help us shake up lemons, keep the line moving, and somehow still laugh through the chaos. We truly couldn’t have done it without them, and I’ll never be able to thank them enough.

And to the City of Peru… thank you. Thank you for welcoming Mak’s Lemon, supporting a small family business, and showing up for us every single day. Every smile, every kind word, every “We’ll be back tomorrow!” has meant more than you’ll ever know.

Now here’s the funny part… I was pretty convinced I was ready to sell the stand. But then you all had to go and remind me why we started this crazy adventure in the first place. So thanks for making me question my own decisions! 🤦‍♀️😂

Now I’m sitting here wondering… maybe we don’t sell it. Maybe we dream a little bigger. Maybe we get a bigger stand, squeeze even more lemons, and come back next year even stronger.

Just a little friendly PSA from Mak’s Lemon. 🍋💛

If you stop by and see Makaila (aka the Boss 😂) wearing her headphones, she’s not being rude or ignoring anyone.

Makaila is autistic, and her headphones help her regulate all the sounds, crowds, and excitement that come with busy events. They help her stay comfortable, focused, and able to do what she loves—serving up your favorite lemon shake-ups!

So if you see the Boss rocking her headphones, just know she’s doing her thing, and we’re so proud of her. Thank you for always showing her kindness, patience, and support. It truly means the world to our family. 💛🍋

As we wrap up another Independence Day weekend, we just wanted to say THANK YOU! ❤️🍋🇺🇸

We are incredibly grateful to the communities of Marion and Peru for welcoming Mak’s Lemon to be a part of your July 4th celebrations. Seeing so many familiar faces, meeting new customers, and being part of such amazing community events is something we never take for granted.

To everyone who stopped by for a lemon shake-up, shared a smile, told a friend about us, or simply supported our small family business—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support means more than you know.

We also want to thank the event organizers, volunteers, and everyone who worked so hard to make these celebrations possible. We appreciate the opportunity to be there.
