Welcome to Witching Hour Coffee & Provisions!

Whether you’re just passing through or a local hanging out with us, welcome to our corner of the world. We’re coffee roasters running a cafe and a refill station serving our community in Hopkinton, New Hampshire. New to us? Here's what to expect!

🥐 Cafe & Bakery: Hot coffee, cold brew, lattes, loose-leaf teas, house-brewed chai, ceremonial grade matcha, hot chocolate, and house-made lemonade. Plus a rotating lineup of bakery treats like croissants, coffee cake, and cookies.

☕ Freshly Roasted Coffee Beans: We roast every single week (just up the road!) for our cafe, our coffee subscribers, and wholesale partners. Grab a bag off the shelf to take home or order online anytime.

🫙 Refill Station: Bring your own clean container (or grab one of our free upcycled ones!) to refill household and personal care staples: laundry detergent, dish soap, hand soap, all-purpose cleaner, dishwasher tablets, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bubble bath, and lotion.

At the end of the day, our goal is to serve our community while keeping our footprint light. It’s not glamourous, it's just how we roll (while keeping it fun and judgement free)

☕ Compostable Packaging: All of our freshly roasted beans go into home-compostable bags.

♻️ Hands-On Waste Sorting: Sorting recyclables and compost is built right into our daily closing routine (which usually includes a couple of runs to the local transfer station) to keep as much as possible out of the landfill.

🌿 Offering sustainable brands: we research every product we carry so you don't have to. We evaluate product effectiveness, ingredients, packaging, price point, and more because if it's not effective and affordable...it's not sustainable for you or the earth.

Our favorite tiny human (Owen!) is turning 7, so we're pulling the e-brake on the shop for 48 hours of chaotic family fun. (Yes, his birthday is one of the few holidays we close for 😅)

Welcome to Witching Hour! Coffee roasters, cafe, refill station, and occasional bakers 🤷‍♀️

If you've popped in lately, you might have been lucky enough to catch our baked gluten-free apple c***r donuts. These donuts are 🍁🎇

We make as many as we can at a time, but y'all keep cleaning us out SO we will be dropping an order online for next day pick up option soon (cause when you show up, you buy a few dozen at a time 🫨)

IT'S TIME FOR THE ANNUAL HALLOWEEN COSTUME SWAP AT WITCHING HOUR COFFEE & PROVISIONS (and yes, that did require all caps).

Swipe through for all the details AND to enjoy a few Luke, Alyssa, and Owen costume photos. Cause one time, way back when, Luke and Alyssa worked at the same non-profit, dressed up as the Lorax and a Truffula Tree for Halloween, and got to wear their costumes to work 🎃

And while I have you, a favor. We LOVE hosting this annual event. To help make it sustainable, please only donate costumes during business hours. Do not leave them outside the shop or sneak them through our neighboring business while we're closed. A billion times thank you in advance!

We're an odd duck and that's what makes us work. Pop in for a quick coffee or hang out and play a board game. Snag a bag of our freshly roasted coffee or ask a million questions about our personal care refill products. Put together a gift basket with locally made sourdough, jam, and mustard or grab a bag of dishwasher tabs cause dishes.

Happy Friday! And how do I know it's Friday? Because our shelves are STOCKED with coffee 😅

Honestly, the rhythm of our coffee production (and the amount or lack of coffee on our cafe shelves) tells me the day of the week ☕💚

Monday through Wednesday is non-stop roasting at the production facility, Tuesday through Thursday is a whirlwind of bagging and packing up wholesale and online orders, Thursday is delivery day.

And through it all, the cafe is open. Pulling shots, steaming milk, wiping down counters, popping out to help you refill, and doing it all over again until we can't tell if we're coming or going, but witching hour has always been a bit of an odd duck and getting to fuel your mornings and share these daily rituals with you makes every single second of our chaos completely worth it.

Thank you for showing up for us and being the absolute best community we could ever ask for.

Yes, we are still a coffee shop. Don't worry, more coffee inspo coming later this week. But cause we're chaos goblins, we're also a refill station with a passionate goal of removing judgement and barriers from the process of ditching single-use plastic. Cause (say with your chest) IT ISN'T ABOUT PERFECTION. It’s just about doing what you can, when you can. 🌿

Today we are talking BEESWAX WRAPS. They'll save you money in the long run. You can make them or buy them. And this post today covers all the basics.

SO, if you're on the hunt for a quick dopamine hit before the motivation moves on, SAVE THIS POST. But also, if you're like...Alyssa... no. I do not have time for this...I've got you. We have kicka$$ wraps in a variety of sizes just waiting for you.

Materials Needed
- 100% cotton fabric (bonus points for using what you have!)
- Beeswax (pellets or grated) - check local craft store
- Pine resin (optional, helps with extra stickiness, likely need to buy online)
- Jojoba oil (optional, adds flexibility) - check local craft store
- Parchment paper (to protect your iron and work surface)
- Iron & ironing board (or a heat-resistant surface)
- Paintbrush (for beeswax use, to spread the wax - once used it can't be reclaimed for any other activity)

Instructions
1. Prep & Cut: Wash, dry, and cut your 100% cotton fabric into your desired shapes and sizes.
2. Mix & Sprinkle: Combine 2 parts beeswax, 1 part pine resin, and a few drops of jojoba oil. You'll need enough to cover your entire piece of fabric with a thin, sparse layer. Once mixed, sprinkle across fabric.
3. Cover & Iron: Layer another parchment sheet on top. Iron on medium (no steam) until the wax melts and spreads completely. It will soak both sides of the fabric if you put enough one.
4. Cool & Use: Peel back paper, hold up to cool, and your reusable wrap is ready to mold and use!

Care instructions: gently hand wash using cool water and soap, air dry.
