Phoenix (VERY limited)

This isn’t about blowing your face off with heat. It’s about depth, character, and that perfect bite that keeps you going back for more.

Small batch. Made today. Crafted with intention.

Before there was a name, before there were jars, before anyone ever tried a single batch—there was just this idea that food should say something.

Not just fill you up… but actually connect. Bold flavor. Personality. Something you remember.

That really hit me when I was living in Florida and started getting homesick. I missed real Tex-Mex food. Not just something labeled that way—but the kind with depth, character… the kind that actually tastes like home.

So I started making my own.

Somewhere along the way, the face of it all came into being—and yeah… it’s literally my face.

During a branding conversation, my friend Paul Iudica took a picture of me and dropped it onto a poblano pepper in Photoshop. No overthinking it—that was the first version of “Pepperface.”

And that pepper choice wasn’t random.

Poblano has always been my favorite. It’s not about heat—it’s mild, earthy, a little smoky… just a more complex flavor overall. That’s always been the direction.

From there, I took that original image and hand-drew my own version—brighter, bolder, something that would actually stand out whether you saw it at a booth or on a shelf.

As the flavors grew, so did Pepperface.

Tejas got a smoky, slightly distorted version to match the recipe. Manganero pushed into a more vibrant, multi-color look—shaped into a new logo with help from my friend Jerry Futch that carried the brand for a few years.

But more recently, things leveled up.

Once I started creating full characters for each flavor—Tejas Tim, Manganero Meli, and the Reaper Phoenix—I knew the original Pepperface needed that same energy.

So I gave him a true evolution.

Sharper. Bolder. More presence.

Not just a logo anymore—a character.

And since The Signature is where everything started—and built around poblano—it only made sense for him to represent it.

That’s when the name finally caught up:

The Pepperface Prophet.

What started as missing home turned into something real.
What started as a quick Photoshop joke turned into the face of the brand and the Oracle of the Awesomesauce.

And I’m not done with it yet.

🔥 Salsa Update from Uncle Mike’s Awesomesauce 🔥

First off, thank you to everyone who’s been grabbing jars lately. The support means a lot and the kitchen has been staying busy because of it.

Quick inventory update:

🔥 Phoenix – Almost SOLD OUT. Only a few jars left of the Carolina Reaper heat with a touch of navel orange. Once these are gone, the Phoenix burns out for a while.

🥭 Manganero – Mango sweetness with a habanero kick. This one has been moving fast lately.

🤠 Tejas – Smoky chipotle and Anaheim pepper flavor that brings that bold Texas vibe.
True story: I sold a jar yesterday and the guy liked it so much he was literally drinking it straight from the jar. I’d say that’s a pretty solid review.

🌵 The Signature – The original that started it all (tomatillo, poblano, cactus). I’ll be making a fresh batch next week, so keep an eye out for that drop.
