Hey everyone, Jill here. I know I'm not around on Facebook much, I'm more of a behind the scenes kind of person. I'd like to address the rumors and make a formal announcement that Kickstand is indeed closing and our last day of service will be Friday October 30th.
This all started almost exactly 10 years ago. October 12th 2016 I purchased the property, planned, renovated, had my 3rd child (shout out Mags!), and we opened our doors June 24th 2018. I've been in food service since I was 16, I'm now 41. The closure of "my own place" holds more weight than I care to admit. Every compliment breaks my heart and repairs it in the same moment.
Thank you. Thank you to the regulars, whom I might not know your face or even your name, but I certainly know your orders. Thank you to the tourists, I have a whole log book of kind messages and support. Thank you to my employees, past & present. You all taught me so much about life, human beings, and kindness; and have such bright futures, please keep me in the loop!! Thank you to Jeremy, who may not be finishing this with me, but was the TRUE heart and soul of Kickstand and deserves all the recognition for his dedication and our food. He got A LOT of "best Reuben ever" compliments. Thank you to my parents, for basically everything and then some, I hope I've made you proud. Thank you to Denise, we met designing my home kitchen and she ended up designing Kickstand Kitchen. From professional contact to business collaborator to cherished friend. Thank you to the city of Connellsville and the Great Allegheny Passage, its been a long ride, thank you for the support. Thank you and good luck to all my fellow neighboring restaurant owners. Hoping my closure brings you ALL the business you can handle. If you ever need a hand, reach out.
Last but not least, thank you to my kiddos. You three were the reason for opening and are the reason for closing. Thank you for your sacrifice, I intend to make up for every moment missed.
Our hours until closing are Tuesday-Saturday 11am-7pm, with a small exception for Saturday October 17th where we'll be open for lunch only, 11-3.
