Join us for the opening of Antagony: Painting and Sculpture by Oreen Cohen on Saturday, August 8, from 5-8pm.

Antagony brings together a new series of monumental paintings alongside sculpture that examine the physical and psychological friction between opposing forces. Built through an improvisational process of drawing, carving, and layering, these works occupy the unstable territory between body and landscape, containment and release, vulnerability and resilience. Broad automatic charcoal gestures are cut into dense, tactile surfaces, tracing figures that emerge, dissolve, and transform through acts of struggle and becoming. The paintings and sculptures aren’t primarily about abstraction or material experimentation, they’re about embodied experience, and the material process is how that experience becomes visible.

On view August 8- September 21.
