Good morning, Concrete!
I am pleased to let you all know that Perks has, once again, been passed to the next owner. Over the years, Perks has become a torch, that we owners carry in order to privide a vital service to the community. Perks has been "Perks" for over 30 years, and will continue to stay as such because of how beloved it is by many... And all credit is due to the many owners.
And so, I am very glad to say that I've passed Perks to the next owner who loves it just as much as I do, and loves what it provides to the community. From the first time the new owner, Rupinder, walked in, she fell in love, and knew that it was a space for good. Good for the community, good for the employees, and a place for people to gather, reconnect, and build friendships. She has a heart for people, and I know this because she is excited to give back to the community by supporting local youth organizations, just as I have over the years.
I am grateful for this transfer, as I will be able to devote more time to my son, and our family will be able to remain flexible as my husband is still serves in the Navy... In the service, we never really know what our future holds. I also have other aspirations that I would like to pursue, and so this is a good change for me.
Perks will remain Perks, no changes are planned, and our wonderful employees will remain. You'll still receive the same loving service that you always have... Maybe even more, because I am convinced that Rupinder has a bigger heart than I do, and I hope you all take the time to get to know her like I have. We have become very close, and I can say with certainty that Perks is in great hands, as well as my incredible employees, who I care for and love deeply.
I would like to thank everyone in town who has supported me and Perks while I had the honor of being It's owner. Seeing the tables full of chatty people completely filled my heart and brought life into this business. I will miss seeing you, but please reach out if you would like to stay in contact.
To my girls, my employees... I love you all. Thank you to everyone that works here now, or has worked here in the past. I am still here for you. We've been through the trenches of service together, and so we are bonded!
This transaction moved quickly and there was one hiccup that I did not forsee - gift cards. If you purchased a gift card before July 13th, message me here on Facebook if you would like a refund. Please send a photo of the back of your gift card. I would like to point out that a refund at the Perks kiosk is not possible, only through me (because you purchased from me, not the new owners, and the money is separate).
I would like to give an extra shout out to my husband, Brandon, for supporting and encouraging me over the years, the many late night, after-work projects and grocery hauls that you did to keep Perks running... I could not have lasted that long without you. You were the behind-the-scenes guy, the unsung cornerstone of the operation.... Thank you, my love.
Thank you all! And I will see you around - I plan on being at Perks for a little while longer. Please come in to see me and meet the new owner of Perks!
- Mary
