Happy Monday, friends! ☕️🔥
Well, it’s been quite the start to the week here at William & Sons!
We had already planned to close our Manchester Elm Street location today to give our amazing team a little break for the holiday. Little did we know just how eventful the morning would become!
We woke up to news that a prep fridge had gone down at our Concord Washington Street location. That means we lost all our prepped breakfast sandwich items for the busy holiday today. And then, around 5:30 a.m., Paul, our amazing building maintenance man at The Beacon in Manchester, heard a loud POP!
He went to investigate and discovered that our display refrigerator at Elm Street was on fire!
Brian, our building owner, arrived shortly afterward as smoke began to fill the space. Thinking quickly, he extinguished the flames.
The Manchester Fire Department responded in full force, with five fire trucks and more than 30 personnel on the scene. Elm Street was blocked off at both ends by the Manchester Police Department as everyone worked to ensure the building was safe.
We’re incredibly grateful for Paul, Brian, Corrine (our back kitchen lead who came in to help and she just got engaged over the weekend!!!) and the outstanding men and women of the Manchester Fire and Police Departments who responded so quickly and professionally. Thankfully, everyone is safe!
The Health Department has already stopped by, and we’re now working through the cleanup and recovery process. We’re hopeful that we’ll have everything cleaned, inspected, and ready to welcome you back by Wednesday!
Sometimes running a coffee company means navigating a few unexpected fires—occasionally, quite literally! 😅
Thank you, friends, for your patience, encouragement, and continued support as we get things back online.
We love this community, and we can’t wait to be serving you again soon!
With gratitude,
Jonathan & Patty (Patty is coming down to help clean. Thank goodness she’s off from school today)
