Both culinary extraordinaires, Scott and I have lived in Greece for more than 15 years and have recently returned here to the States to bring the taste of Athens back! We ran the family restaurant on the Greek island of Kos. Using old family recipes, Rika interprets the national dishes to perfection. The ingredients are super fresh and prepared upon order.Using only the freshest ingredients and spices, our staff will prepare your entree using the authentic Greek recipes that you and your friends will love! Dine at our Greek restaurant, and taste authentic Greek cooking at its best at The Gateway to Athens.

Finishing up clearing out Gateway and we have some imported pepperocinis and olives left—perfect for snacking or your New Years charcuterie boards 😜!

Hey friends! Just a heads up for those who followed our last pregnancy, baby Ava arrived safely yesterday. She was 8 lb 8 oz, 20.75 inches long, and is doing very well. Both momma and baby should be going home in a couple of days. Mia was ecstatic to meet her new sister, her new best friend đŸ„čđŸ©·. Thank you for the love and support through that journey as well. đŸ©·

she had been in Greece for the last few months so while she won’t be here when the doors close one last time her heart is with us during this huge transition for our family.

To the faithful,

To all our loyal, faithful and longtime guests, it is with deep regret and emotion that we will bid you one last farewell on November 29th, 2025.

After a long and sometimes rocky 20 years we have decided to retire from the restaurant business and we have all made the choice to move on to the next chapter in our lives.
Our current lease will expire 11/30/2025 and the landlord has been informed that we will not extend or renew.

The goal is to sell the business as is. We are hoping to find a buyer who would like to simply take over The Gateway in its current state and continue to bring you the dining experience you have all enjoyed for so many years.

I, Scott Gould, am willing and able to guide new ownership and provide all the tools needed to continue with no major changes. However, the choice is not mine. It will be up to the buyer as to whether or not they keep the same concept or bring in something different (with landlord approval).

Our success was built solely on those we have served and provided a pleasurable dining experience for so many years. While The Gateway To Athens will close or be taken over by new ownership the memories will remain with the Gould family for many years to come.
Again, our sincere and heartfelt thanks to those who have stopped in for a meal and after returning for a second and third have become so much more than another customer. You have become friends and family to all of us here at The Gateway.

Hello everyone! I haven’t been on social media much these days. I’m in my third trimester and with it being a high risk pregnancy it’s been rough. Honestly this pregnancy has been soooo much harder than with Mia. Point being I am SO grateful to be here, this is our 6th pregnancy and will be our 2nd earth born child. Our four babies in Heaven are watching down and sending their love I am sure. Baby Ava is set to arrive by the end of November or the first week of December, as we get closer my energy seems to be diminishing by the minute. I am constantly busy with my sweet toddler Mia and that leaves very little time for much of anything else, sadly that includes my baking. I have been doing custom orders and some light baking for Gateway but that will soon be coming to an end. I will not be doing much baking (if any at all) after the last week of October.

I wanted to thank all of you for your support and love throughout the years and let you know I will be back, but I have to focus all my energy on resting and preparing for the arrival of our little pot of gold baby—Ava.

I will post any updates as they come in regards to my baking journey and while I’ll be stepping away for a little bit to focus on my family I am not giving up on this, baking has been a passion of mine for the last decade and I’ve come a long way with it—who knows what comes next for me when it comes to that. My top priority right now is being a momma but that doesn’t mean I won’t be back later on down the road—the future is limitless and I have big dreams that are yet to be fulfilled.

Thank you all and catch me at Gateway for the next month or so until my temporary leave.

Baby Hamilton is a
 GIRL! 🎀

Thank you for all the messages, texts and posts on here. I haven’t been able to get back to all of you BUT I appreciate you more than you know!

This is our sixth and final baby, our pot of gold. Four of our babies are in Heaven and now by God’s grace Mia will have a little sister this December!

To say we are over the moon is putting it mildly. God has granted our family so much and we are so thankful.

Stop by Gateway for some good eats and sweet treats! I pop in from time to time so I may even get to say hello with my sweet Mia.

Hello Gateway family! I wanted to pop in and let y’all know our precious baby girl (who is now a toddler đŸ€Ż) is going to be a big sister! Baby Hamilton is coming in December 2025!

Thanks for all the love and support and we are excited to share this new addition to our family.

Hope you all are doing well
even after a year of not being there with y’all anymore and it still feels surreal when I pop in.

I still am the one making the desserts up there so thank you for supporting my work and in doing so supporting my little expanding family!
