I am blown away, how many people have brought in donations for the fire victims. What an amazing little community we live in. This is just a small portion of what I’ll be hauling down tomorrow morning. We’ve got clothing, bedding, toiletries, and more. Thank you for everyone who has donated. I’m sure the people that receive it will also be thankful.

We may have a slight change of plans. With the new fire outside Okanagan, there are some locals who are now losing their homes. I will offer the donations that I've received to them and then take what's left to Chelan.

Those of us who live on the east side of the mountains understand the fear and trauma of fire season. Most of us know what it's like to have to pack our stuff and get out, not knowing if our home will be there when we get back. Throughout the last week, many people in the Chelan area have been dealing with this, and many of them are coming back to no home. I'm going down on Tuesday, July 14, to drop off some donations to help those people. If anyone has any donations they'd like to add, I'll gladly take them. You can drop them off with me at Fancy Kamper Espresso in Conconully between now and Monday, 6 AM until 3 PM. I don't have the capability to take large items, but I would love to take personal hygiene items, toiletries, clothing, small items, blankets, pillows, etc. Let's see if we can fill up my truck and help some people.

The Town of Conconully has placed a burn ban on within the Town limits, effective immediately. Propane fire pits, and propane barbeques are allowed. This is earlier than we have placed a ban than before, but conditions this year warrant the early ban. Please lets have a safe summer.

Our Independence Day celebration is happening on Saturday. The fancy camper espresso will be open from 6 AM until 4 PM, with a brief break during the parade. We will have some fun hats and visors for sale and also have some random giveaways throughout the day. And while you're out wandering by the lakes, if you happen to see one of the rocks pictured below, bring it on in and see what prize you get. We'll see everyone Saturday. And for those of you who can't make it, have a safe and fun Fourth of July.
