A Story Worth Sharing — and a Night You Won't Want to Miss
A few weeks ago, a man named Steve Shackleford wandered into Chumley's to check out our new place. As he looked around, he spotted an old guitar hanging on the wall and asked if he could play a few songs.
It was a quiet evening — just a handful of folks in the Doghouse. But when Steve started playing, the whole room stopped. He moved every single person there.
Afterward, he pulled me aside with a tear in his eye and shared something personal: he hadn't played since losing his wife a couple of years ago.
Since that night, Steve has made a few surprise visits to Chumley's — trying different hot dogs, sharing music and stories, and becoming one of the most genuine new friends this place has brought.
This Friday (5/29), we're officially launching our new alternating Friday Night Acoustic Series — and there is nobody I'd rather have kick things off than Steve, or or you can call him "Shack" if you prefer.
Steve will be the first to tell you he's a little rusty. But I'll tell you what I told him: Whatever you play, the Doghouse will love you for it.
If you'd like to witness a long-awaited return to the stage from someone with a truly God-given gift — come by this Friday and welcome Steve Shackelford at Chumley's Doghouse. Music starts around 6pm....or whenever Steve shows up!
We'll see you there. 🐾
Note: Our Fridays alternate — next week (6/5) is our Evening Farmer's Market, followed by Live Music the week after, and so on from there.
