WELL… WE DID A THING. 😂🍞

We bought a BREAD SLICER. And yes, I’m pretty sure this means we’ve officially entered a new era around here.

So now we’re wondering…

Would y’all like ALL of our bread to come sliced? 👀

No more waiting until you get home to wrestle with a sourdough loaf and a bread knife. No more uneven slices that start paper thin and somehow end up ¾” thick. 😂

We’re thinking from here on out, our loaves could come freshly baked AND freshly sliced — unless you’re a “don’t you dare touch my crust” kind of person and want your loaf whole.

So tell us:

🍞 SLICED — absolutely, please do the work for me
🍞 WHOLE — I like slicing my own
🍞 I DON’T CARE — bread is bread and I’m eating it either way 😂

Would y’all want us to make sliced the standard or keep it as an option?

Because this little machine needs to earn its keep. 😂

📍🌎 TWO SISTERS, TWO MAPS, TWO PINS! ❤️

One of my favorite things about our interactive maps is the stories we get to hear along the way!

Today, we had two sweet sisters stop by Against the Grain & The Naked Kitchen! Both are originally from North Carolina, but one made her way to Texas to attend college, earned her master’s degree, and decided to make Texas home! 🎓❤️

Her sister is in town visiting this week, and we had the pleasure of meeting them both!

Of course, we couldn’t let them leave without adding their pins! 📍 One sister represented their North Carolina roots on our world map, while the other proudly marked her new home on our Colorado County map!

Two sisters, two maps, and two places they call home! 🥰

And here’s where that small-town connection comes in… as we continued visiting, I learned these sisters are actually related to one of our regular customers! ❤️

It really is a small world, and conversations like these remind me why I love what we do!

Thank you, ladies, for stopping in, sharing your story, and adding to ours! We hope you enjoyed your sister time together, and we look forward to seeing you again! Safe travels back to North Carolina.

🍝 NEW TO THE FREEZER!

Some meals just feel like home — and our Spaghetti & Meatballs is exactly that. ❤️

Al dente spaghetti noodles tossed with 6 hearty 4-oz. All beef meatballs, seasoned with all the good stuff, seared to perfection, and then simmered right in our brand-new Sunday Sauce.

📍 HUNGARY is on the map! 🇭🇺🌎

Now THIS is what our little map is all about! ❤️

We had this fun group stop in today, and after visiting with them, we learned they are all the way from Hungary and are currently on quite the U.S. adventure!

They came to us after spending time in Houston, and their Texas itinerary includes Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Houston before they leave the Lone Star State.

And then their travels get even better… they’re heading to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico! 🇲🇽🌴

Somehow, right in the middle of all those big-name destinations, their journey brought them to our little town of Columbus, Texas—and into our little store. 🥰

Of course, we had to get them gathered around the map and add another international pin. Welcome to the map, Hungary! 🇭🇺📍

One of my favorite parts of this map has become hearing how people ended up in Columbus. Every pin represents a story, a journey and people we probably never would have met otherwise.

📍 From California & India… to Houston… with a whole lot of concerts in between! 🎸❤️

We met these two friends today who both now call Houston home, but their stories started in very different places—one is originally from California 🇺🇸 and the other from India 🇮🇳!

And how did they become friends? At a concert! 🎶

They met a few years ago while enjoying live music, hit it off, and apparently decided one concert together just wasn’t enough. 😆 Since then, traveling to concerts has become their thing!

Today, their adventures had them passing through Columbus on their way to San Antonio to see Iron Maiden! 🤘🎸

Of course, we couldn’t let them leave without adding their pins to our map and getting a picture. 📍

I absolutely love hearing the stories behind the people who walk through our doors. Two people from completely different parts of the world, a chance meeting at a concert, a friendship formed—and now they’re making memories one road trip and one concert at a time.

Safe travels to San Antonio, ladies, and have an AMAZING time at Iron Maiden! 🤘❤️

Sometimes s**t just happens. 😂🍪

We were supposed to have our Caramel Apple Oatmeal Cream Pies this weekend… and well, apparently our oatmeal cookies had a VERY different plan. 😂

Maybe we rushed the dough. Maybe we forgot an ingredient. Maybe the sourdough gods simply said, “Not today.” 🤷‍♀️😂

Whatever the reason, our usually golden-edged, soft-and-chewy oatmeal cookies decided to come out flat, sticky, and permanently attached to the parchment paper. 🫠

Needless to say, we’re not going to sell you a cookie that we wouldn’t happily eat ourselves, so the Caramel Apple Oatmeal Cream Pies are sitting this weekend out.

BUT don’t worry — we’ve still got plenty of other goodies coming your way this weekend!

Because sometimes the behind-the-scenes of a small bakery is less Pinterest perfect and more “well… what the hell happened here?” 😂

Well… this is pretty special. 🥹❤️

We are so honored to be featured in the Fall/Winter 2026 edition of Columbus, Texas magazine.

A huge thank you to the team behind the magazine for choosing The Naked Kitchen & Bakery to be part of this issue and for telling Kaitlon’s story with such kindness. From those first few loaves of sourdough to everything this little business has grown into today, seeing that journey captured in these pages is something our family will treasure.

One of our favorite parts is how beautifully the article captured what we hope people feel when they walk through our doors — good food, simple ingredients, community, conversation, and a place that feels a little bit like home.

And truly, this story wouldn’t exist without all of you. Every person who has walked through our doors, bought a loaf of bread, grabbed lunch, told a friend about us, supported one of our local vendors, or simply stayed awhile to visit has become part of our story, too.

Thank you, Columbus, Texas, for shining a light on our little corner of downtown and on so many of the people and places that make our community special.
