While we've been enjoying this hoya bloom in the shop, we've also been admiring the milkweed blooming outdoors. Hoyas and milkweed are related, belonging to the same family (Apocynaceae) and subfamily (Asclepiadoideae). You can see the similarities in the latex sap they produce and in the clusters of five-petaled flowers!
