Yesterday's foodie travels took me to Risers Tavern On The Links.This restaurant is located on The Links @ Firestone Farms, an award winning golf course sitting on what was the former homestead of Harvey Firestone.I was greeted by hostess Tiffany who seated me & handed me menus.I was thirsty & made a beeline to the bar where McKenna got me started with a cold pint of Too Hip.Mgr Rachael came over & went over the menu.For my app I got a Knotty Pretzel - house made w 3 sauces.I also got an order of Riser Bay Confit wings which were a combo of Old Bay & hot honey.Confit wings are very unique to the Valley.They are slow baked in fat & then either fried or grilled.Shawn Sweeney from a Movable Feast fame, actually introduced these to the menu when he worked @ Risers on Western Reserve.My entree was Nola Style Shrimp & Grits @ the suggestion of Chef Lindsay.It included jumbo shrimp, andouille, trinity, & pimento cheese grits.This dish was probably the tastiest entree I've eaten this year.Just as I tapped out, owner Lisa Lorelli stopped by to introduce herself. She explained that she started up this beautiful venue 5 yrs ago along with partner Mark Taylor. She also blessed me with a couple glasses commemorating their 5th anniversary & Risers/Bdm 10 anniversary. I want to close by mentioning the service which was the best I've experienced in the Valley No less than 5 team members interacted w me to ensure I had a stellar experience! I'll be back soon!
