It’s time to be honest with you guys. We’ve always said Four Oaks is more than a business—it’s a family. And I want our family to understand what’s been going on. 💗
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this year it means something much more personal to me.
For anyone who doesn’t know, I’m Jenna, one of the owners of Four Oaks, and I’m fighting stage 4 breast cancer. I was diagnosed in April, and I’m currently going through chemotherapy, with surgery and radiation still ahead.
Behind the posts, the food, and the doors being closed some weekends, there’s a mom of three trying to get through treatment and keep life moving. Some days I feel up to doing more. Other days, pain and exhaustion make even the simplest things hard.
Four Oaks means so much to me, and having to put it on the back burner hurts. When our hours change or we have to close, please know it isn’t because I don’t care. Right now, I have to give my body the time it needs, even when my heart wants to be doing everything else.
I’m sharing this because breast cancer awareness is about real people, real families, and lives that change overnight. This year, I’m one of those people.
Please, get checked. If something feels different, speak up and have it looked at. Don’t put it off like I did. You deserve to make time for yourself, too. 💗
Thank you for being patient with us, checking on me, and continuing to support our little business. I may not share every part of this journey, but please know your kindness means more than you realize.
Love,
Jenna 💗
