Hi. We are sad and shell-shocked. Our building, equipment, memories, baking mixes, ingredients, and paperwork are all destroyed. We don’t know what happened yet. We don’t even know what we need to do next.

I wanted to let you know that we pulled the baking mixes down off line (actually I did that Wednesday so we could get caught up- and now this.) I’m refunding the not-shipped orders.

No idea if/when we will be back to baking mixes.
It’s hard to think right now.

I don’t know what else to say or do- we are heartbroken, confused, feeling all the things…

Hey friends! I know it’s been a bit since we’ve touched base. Sorry about that. We’ve had a lot going on!
So, the short version is that the end of September I was offered the Executive Pastry Chef position at a gorgeous private resort property in Big Sky Montana. It’s the kind of position that allows me to be creative and innovative in pastry while still surprising people with how awesome allergen-free products can be!

Since the economy was slowly but surely killing our TDL dreams, we felt this was an amazing opportunity for our family.

Originally we had hoped to have Paul and the kids keep things running in Columbia for many more months, but as my start date got closer and the economics got harder to justify, it became clear that we needed to cease operations as a restaurant and move our family on to another adventure!

Some FAQs:
- we are doing great! Super happy here, the boys have been skiing every day since the mountain opened, jobs are all going well.
- We did not *plan* our closing to happen so fast- it was announced within 12 hours of us making the decision. We gave everyone 2 more days to come by as a courtesy, use points and gift cards, and to say goodbye. Most businesses who close just lock the doors and leave. Best business practices dictate that’s the way to leave since it eliminates the angry mobs, but it didn’t feel like “us”.

- We are still offering our mixes online, and hoping to get them into a local Columbia store, but doing all of this while moving and from 2000 miles away has been harder than we expected. We are working out the kinks as quickly as we can.

- We miss seeing your faces! It’s been strange being in a new town where no one knows us and no one yells “hey Dotted Lime!” from across the street! 😂

- We don’t know what the future holds for us, but for now we are enjoying our new adventure, enjoying our new environment, and enjoying having a steady paycheck and benefits! 😂😂 (all the small biz owners are nodding along at that last one… 😂)

A message from Paul and Chrissy:
Hi friends! We have LOVED being “The Dotted Lime” for our community. Our kids have grown up as “The Dotted Lime kids” as little bitty people scurrying around bussing tables to now mostly full-grown adults.

As you know, this has been a weird season for us. Throughout the strange, constantly-shifting season we have grown personally and professionally. Now, our family is entering a new season - one that we are very excited to begin!

We recognize how intertwined our lives have become with our best customers, and out of respect for that, we want to announce our “last call”.

💚This Saturday, 10/7, will be our final day as a restaurant. 💚

Before we turn off the ovens one last time, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate with you all! We hope you can stop by this Saturday 7-3pm and grab a few treats, sign our memory book, and bid us adieu.

I’m basically a preschooler with food. I get on a roll with a specific menu item and get stuck there. It’s been this pepperoni pizza for a while now. Not sad about it.

Normally mom makes all of the posts on here. But I keep the log in so I can remind you guys every time she should be celebrated. (Which, let’s be honest- it’s every day.)

Apple cinnamon donuts with apple juice reduction, brown sugar chai, dairy free frosting, molasses crumble… super yummy!
There’s also chocolate with mocha glaze (V), baguettes, pumpkin cranberry muffins, blueberry muffins, cinnamon rolls, and redoing all the other things all morning! See ya soon!

Quality control checked this pumpkin cranberry muffin on the way to school drop off and determined it is quite tasty! There are also apple cinnamon donuts in store! Both are dairy free! There will also be carrot cake donuts, coming out soon, glaze/topping to be determined. Hope to see you today! Happy Friday!
