We’re getting to know some of the talented chefs behind Columbia’s local food scene! 🍽️

What inspired you to become a chef?
“I’ve always cooked, from the time I was a little girl. I loved learning from my grandma, baking for friends and family during the holidays, and trying new recipes. When I attended Mizzou and started exploring different ethnic cuisines, I was hooked and knew I wanted to make a career out of creating delicious food!”

What’s your favorite aspect of cooking?
“I love trying new ingredients, especially produce. The fresher and more local, the better! Experimenting with new preparations and fun, seasonal produce is the best.”

What’s your favorite dish to prepare, and why?
“I love making Indian food of all kinds. The layering of spices and the care put into even the simplest dishes can elevate a meal and bring so much depth to it.”

Where do you like to eat in Columbia when you’re not in the kitchen?
