An update on An Evening on Charitable Giving

We have to share some disappointing news: due to a staffing change on Charles Schwab's side, we are cancelling An Evening on Charitable Giving, originally planned for September 15th. This was out of our control and not a reflection of anything on our end.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of Shiloh Communities.

Dear Friends,
We don't often write to you like this, but today we're asking for your help.
For those who don't know, Shiloh Trading Co. has been so much more than a coffee shop or a storefront. It has been a place where young adults with disabilities come to work real jobs, learn real skills, and be part of a community that sees them for who they are — not for their diagnosis, but for their gifts. It has been a place where families who have spent years searching for somewhere their child could belong finally found one.
We have heard this straight from parents, more times than we can count: how much this place means to their child. How it gave their son or daughter a sense of purpose they hadn't had before. How it gave them, as parents, hope for what their child's future could look like. Those conversations are why we are fighting so hard to bring these doors back open.
Right now, we need your help to make that happen. We simply cannot do this without the support of this community. Reopening Shiloh Trading Co. takes real resources — and we're asking you to prayerfully consider being part of that.
As of today, we have raised $30,000 toward our $350,000 goal. We still have a long way to go, and we need your help to get there.
Every dollar helps, no matter the size of the gift. And every dollar you give is a tax write-off, so your generosity works twice as hard — for the families we serve, and for you.

If the former Bitty and Beau's Coffee shop has ever meant something to you, Shiloh Trading Co. will mean even more. This is the moment we're asking you to show up for us the way we have tried to show up for this community for years. And if you're not able to give right now, we'd still be so grateful if you'd share this with someone who might.
Thank you for standing with us. We could not do this work without you, and we are so grateful for every hand that helps us get these doors open again.
With gratitude and hope,
Ashley and Brandon Abbott

OUR VOICE. Their voices. Their future. ❤️

Today was a very special first for Shiloh Communities. We gathered downtown for the very first meeting of Our Voice Panel—eight incredible individuals with disabilities who now have a seat at the table and a voice in what we are building.

And our hearts were FULL.

We talked about Shiloh Trading Company, uniforms, merchandise, future events, ideas for the store, and so much more. They also got to tour the store and see the construction underway as we prepare to open our doors.

But today was about much more than a store.

We were reminded how often individuals with disabilities have decisions made for them instead of being invited into the conversation. How often their opinions are overlooked or their voices are quieted.

Not here. Not anymore.

At Shiloh, we don’t simply want to create opportunities for individuals with disabilities. We want to build WITH them. We want to hear what they like, what they don’t like, what they dream about, and what they believe our community needs.

These eight voices matter. Their ideas matter. Their experiences matter.

Today they weren’t just touring Shiloh Trading Company.

They were helping shape its future.

This is Our Voice Panel—and we cannot wait for you to hear what they have to say. ❤️

We need your help getting Shiloh Trading Co. back open.
We've been working hard toward reopening, but we haven't hit all the goals we set for ourselves, and we're still short of what we need to get the doors open again. Brandon and Ashley can't do this alone, and honestly, we shouldn't have to — this is a community effort, and it's going to take our community to get us there.
Here's why it matters: Shiloh Trading Co. isn't just a store to us. It's a place where employees with disabilities get to work, contribute, and be part of something. When we're closed, those team members are out of a job they're proud of and a place they belong. Reopening means bringing them back to work.
We're asking for your help closing the gap. Whatever you're able to give — $5, $20, $100 — genuinely moves us closer. And if you can't give right now, sharing this post with someone who might is just as valuable.
Goal: $350,000 Raised so far: $23,000 | Donate here: https://givebutter.com/shiloh-trading-co-reopening-fje8xl
Thank you for standing with us and with our team. We're not giving up on this, and we hope you'll help us get there. 💙
