Whispering Elm Farm will have ground chicken on the menu this Saturday! I use ground chicken to make Asian lettuce wraps but that recipe calls for a lot of ingredients I don’t have at the moment. So here’s an alternative…stuffed peppers! Peppers and onions are in season and available at Boone County Missouri Farmers Market so stop by and get your grocery shopping done in one place!

My family tree is rooted in Germany so I naturally love bratwurst. Here’s how I prepare it. I started with cheddar brats from Whispering Elm Farm. I sliced up a farm fresh onion I got from the Boone County Missouri Farmers Market and added it to a pot with 2 bottles of German beer. I brought that to a boil and then nestled the brats in between the onions. After 10 minutes I threw the brats on a hot grill until you get a nice color going. I picked up some pretzel buns from Schnucks that I also toasted on the grill and sauced it simply with stone ground mustard from Stop by the market on Saturday to shop for an easy, delicious, local dinner this weekend!
