Our 1st Annual Pillow Springs Staff Brawl & Dinner was a great way to get the team together, have some fun, and enjoy a little friendly competition! ⛳️

🏆 Congratulations to our winning team:

We also handed out four $25 Pillow Springs gift cards to our door prize winners: Bill Peters, Doug Warner, Thom Hyland & Robert Vaughn.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the day happen, especially Rik Shelby & Kris Hertzke for organizing the event, Rick Saxby for donating the gift cards, and Jenn Robbins for keeping the drinks flowing!

And of course, thank you to Mark Baker for giving the crew some time away from work to enjoy a round, some burgers, and a few laughs!

Employee Spotlight: Troy Bonnett!

Originally born and raised in Havana, Illinois, Troy and his wife, Holly, have been married for 34 years. Together, they have two sons, Ryan and Kevin, and are proud grandparents to their grandson, Daylon.

Before coming to Tennessee, Troy spent 28 years with the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, retiring in 2016. After retirement, Troy and Holly moved to Tennessee for her job and eventually made Columbia their home.

Troy’s connection to Pillow Springs began when he first played the course back when it was still known as Stonebrook Golf Course. In 2021, the Baker family purchased the golf course, and Troy knew something special was beginning. After meeting with Rick Saxby, he quickly realized he wanted to be part of the vision for Pillow Springs and has continued supporting the course and the Baker family ever since.

“Coming to the course and seeing how the course has grown and evolved over a short time. This is a credit to the Baker family and all of the employees of Pillow Springs Golf.”

We’re grateful to have Troy as part of the Pillow Springs family and can’t wait to see what comes next!

We’re excited to spotlight Reggie and Karen Hunt, two members who have made Pillow Springs a regular part of their lives since joining in December 2025.

Reggie is originally from Loretto, Tennessee, while Karen grew up in Michigan before moving to Summertown, Tennessee, while she was in high school. The Hunts have been familiar with Pillow Springs since its days as Stoneybrook Golf Club. They spent plenty of time walking the course while their two daughters played golf for Columbia Central High School.

After beginning to play regularly a few years ago, Reggie and Karen decided to become members. Now that they’re both retired, one of their favorite things about Pillow Springs is the convenience it’s close to home and gives them the freedom to play whenever they like.

Their favorite hole? No. 16. They both agree it’s their favorite because it’s typically a hole where they score well! The Hunts are also coming off some impressive rounds at Pillow Springs. Just last week, Reggie posted a personal-best 74, while Karen shot an 88 a great week of golf for both of them.

When it comes to their favorite courses outside of Pillow Springs, Reggie’s pick is RTJ Schoolmaster in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, which he played for the first time last week. Karen’s favorite is Kelly Plantation in Destin, Florida, which she played last fall.

For Reggie and Karen, Pillow Springs is more than just a convenient place to play it’s become a place where they can enjoy retirement, spend time together, and continue making memories on the golf course. We’re proud to have the Hunts as part of the Pillow Springs family and look forward to seeing where their games take them next!

Meet Ella Konig!

Ella Konig has been part of the Pillow Springs family for the past 3½ years. Originally from Summertown, Tennessee, Ella grew up there and graduated from high school before attending Columbia State.

When Ella started at Columbia State, she was looking for a part-time job. Having played golf in high school and loved the game, working at a golf course seemed like the perfect fit and that’s what brought her to Pillow Springs.

Over the past few years, Ella has made plenty of memories at the course, but some of her favorites have come from working the Ladies League and Thursday League. She especially enjoys seeing members and guests have fun playing golf and spending time together.

We’re thankful to have Ella as part of the Pillow Springs team and appreciate everything she brings to the course!
