The recipe I use for my Frybread dough has been in my family for years beyond my very existence. It was passed down through the generations from my Great-GrandMother Margaret Eastman-Brien. In answer to the most frequently asked question, No, I don't not use yeast in my bread. And, I'm sorry but in all truthfullness it's not what anyone would consider a "healthy snack". In moderation, Frybread is

very enjoyable and quite delicious as a side served with Chili, Stew, Drymeat Soup, ect. Also great as a snack on it's own or heat it up for butter & honey or sprinkle with sugar. I personally recommend slicing the Frybread length wise splitting it in two, makes for the greatest sandwich yet! The larger pieces of Frybread with taco toppings serve as a meal on it's own most commonly referred to as the "Indian Taco".
