The last 30 days have been something. In the last 30 days, the truck broke down requiring repairs ($$$$) and a rental truck out of pocket ($$$), the food trailer brakes went out and had to be replaced ($$$), and we punched a hole in the trailer frame requiring a welder to put it back together ($$$). We also lost three scheduled events from being out of service for repairs ($$$$). And we had two back-to-back events where the organizer brought us out, along with enough free pizza and sandwiches to feed everyone we were supposed to feed 🤬 ($$$$)... All told the last 30 days cost us thousands in expenses and lost revenue.
Rough 30 days...we should just call it and go back to making money working for someone that can guarantee us a paycheck.
...nahhhh, no way!!
The last 30 days really tested us, but we’re not going anywhere. The harder the challenges have been, the harder we look for opportunities to get better.
While this period of time has been the most expensive for unexpected expenses since opening, we’ve also had a huge month of sales. We were able to cover ALL of those repair costs. We were hired for several private events all of which were a huge success. One of those free pizza days mentioned above, where we made very little sales trying to compete with free food, actually led to us getting a private booking with a very prominent official at his private residence.
The last 30 days showed us we got this! We have so many more awesome events coming up this summer. THANK YOU to all of you that constantly show up for us. We couldn’t do this without the Martin family, or without all of you who love our food to death. You guys rock 🫶!
