i felt inspired to put this flag back where it belongs 💪
yes, the ol’ “don’t give up the ship” flag has returned
over some years, those words have become more than a motto to me. they’re my way of looking at the world. this flag has kept my head on straight through some harder chapters, and in turn, is emblematic of some great triumphs -so much so, that i had the original flag mounted and framed inside Shuga’s. (yes, this new one’s a second gen flag)
it started with covid and now years later, this flag still means so much to me
navigating rough water is something i guess we’re all accustomed to by now. families. neighbors. small businesses. sometimes the world can feel impossible and it’s so easy to lose our bearings, let the compass drift, or even stop trusting the compass altogether
that’s why this flag is back
to remind me and anyone who needs it:
hope is a choice
resilience is a daily practice
giving up is never on the table
the only way through is to keep steering and keep showing up
i dunno, i just really love it.
