A little “this time back when we first started” 🥹

Back in 2024, we started as Small House Breads, baking from our little home and dreaming up what this could become. Before long, we rebranded to Small House Sourdough— and somehow, the journey has been even sweeter than we could’ve imagined.

From building such an incredible community, to setting up at markets, meeting so many of you, and now diving into holiday planning… we truly can’t get enough. 🍞✨

Buckle up, we got a long one 🥲

I had such high hopes for this Friday Bake Day. Things were going well, and then about halfway through, it felt like everything started unraveling. One thing after another went wrong, and eventually I let my emotions get the best of me. I was overwhelmed and honestly just at a loss.

I’m usually the person who powers through the hard things and reminds myself that I can handle it. But this week just hit different.

Losing my mom has already made this season of life incredibly heavy, and I’m also trying to be there for my grandma whenever she needs me. There’s been a lot of grief, worry, and emotions to carry, and I think this bake day just became the thing that finally pushed me over the edge.

It was a big bake day, but nothing I haven’t handled before. After each issue, I had to step back, take a breath, and remind myself: I can do hard things. I do them every single day. So I kept going.

This bake day didn’t turn out the way I hoped, but I’m incredibly grateful I made it through most of it. And I’m even more grateful for my customers. Your orders, patience, encouragement, and continued support mean more to me than you know. You’re the reason I get to keep doing what I love, even on the hard days. 🤍

Now to credit some orders, clean my house, and snuggle my babies.

But really… it’s never been about being perfect.

It’s about showing up, making things with care, using good ingredients, and taking pride in what I put into the hands of this community.

For the past few years, you’ve let me be part of your tables, your breakfasts, your busy mornings, your slow weekends— and I don’t take that lightly.

What a Friday 🍞🥯🍪💗

This past bake day was quite the one. It came at the end of a very challenging week, but we powered through— and we’re so incredibly grateful we did.

We’ve been selling out at the market for a while now, and honestly, we don’t take that for granted. Seeing our tables empty and still having people ask for more is such an incredible feeling. 🥹 Every single one of you who chooses Small House Sourdough, comes back for another loaf, shares our name, or simply cheers us on— thank you.

Your support means more to us than you know. Every loaf is made with so much love, and knowing they’re heading into your homes makes all the early mornings, long days, and challenging weeks worth it.
