🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸

Today I'm especially thankful for the freedom we've been given, both as Americans and through Christ.

As the smell of fresh bread fills our home and families gather around their tables, I'm reminded that some of life's greatest blessings are found in the simplest moments... breaking bread together, laughing with the people we love, and giving thanks to the One who provides it all.

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."

Okay… I need to talk about these for a second. 😅

A fresh tray of sourdough scones just came out of the oven and I am genuinely obsessed.

Savory. Sweet. Flaky. Tender. Buttery.

The sourdough gives them the most incredible depth without overpowering anything.

Safe to say… these may be coming to Unleavened very soon. 🤎

Holy ground.

Not always in the big moments.
Not always on the mountaintop.

Sometimes it looks a lot like flour on the floor…
Sticky counters.
A sink full of dishes.
Sore feet.
Early mornings.
Late nights.

Sometimes holy ground looks a lot like my bake space in our home.

This is where prayers are whispered.
Where worship plays in the background.
Where loaves are shaped.
Where orders are packed.
Where God keeps reminding me…

What feels ordinary to us can be sacred when surrendered to Him.

The hustle.
The mess.
The creating.
The serving.

He is here too.

“Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”

PS ... I wouldn't actually recommend taking your shoes off out there. First of all, eww, unsanitary. Second off - there's no telling the crumbs and such that would get on your feet. 🤣🤷‍♀️

These are our rustic bakery-style sourdough cookies… thick, chewy, BIG 3.5 oz beauties made from scratch and baked with lots of love.
