Hey guys!!! What a great weekend that the Carriage Crossing Memphis In May The Heartland Network bbq_country competition this weekend, with the honor of serving 400 samples of ribs to the public. I also had the opportunity to talk to bbq_country host Russ Lannom, hang out and serve some ribs to HANNAH DASHER, see the staff behind MIM McKenzie Carson, Mack Weaver, Kevin Grothe & many of the great MIM volunteers. Shout out to ThunderCookie BBQ Transportation and Clothing Brian Easley on solid finishes in the competition, and congrats to Mike with Ole Smokey BBQ on the win. Huge thanks to Superlo Foods and Prairie Fresh Pork for ribs, Heath Riles BBQ for helping provide that world championship flavor profile, and Smokin Brothers for the use of a cook shack pellet smoker to be able to cook all those ribs at once! A special thank you to Anonymous Swine for helping with prepping, wrapping, cooking and cambro for the event, your support and help is truly a blessing . I also want to thank everyone. Finally, thank you again to Memphis In May for this experience and all the countless people yesterday, that commented on my ribs, took time to talk BBQ, or ask more about Team Bugsyque!!! Dream big. Hey Guys!! What a weekend!
Friday was demos with Bruce Harrington and meeting Sweet Baby Ray's Restaurant & Catering & Famous Dave's. A ribeye cutting class with Kirk Malzer and set up for the National Barbecue & Grilling Association Fire and Flavor event. I also competed in the Krusteaz cornbread challenge, taking home 3rd place with a peach poblano hot honey cornbread.
Saturday was fast paced all day with tailgating category, pork category, and beef category where Team Future of Q (Clayton Dixon & BBQ Bugsy) managed a 2nd place in each category for the Reserve Grand Championship. Congrats to Fireside Smokers BBQ Team on the GC. Shoutout to charcoalcowboys that cinnamon roll pork belly was awesome.

🔥 LATE POST — RIB BOWL RECAP! 🔥

We traveled up to Selmer, TN, for the Rib Cookoff Association Rib Bowl, and what a weekend it was! It was hotter than an Gateway Drum Smokers firebox, but we kept the smokers rolling and had a great time doing what we love.

Results:
7th Place — Baby Back Ribs
13th Place — Chicken Wings
14th Place — SLS Spare Ribs

Huge shoutout to Heath Riles BBQ for the rubs and sauces that keep us cooking with confidence. Both the Gateway Drum Smokers and Ole Hickory Pits were running hot and fast, fueled by B&B Charcoal.

And as always, the Prairie Fresh Pork pork was absolutely amazing. I don’t think you can ever complain when you’re cooking the best pork around!

Big thanks to Big D' Danny Montgomery for putting on a great competition. This one can only get bigger and better!

And congratulations to all the teams that heard their names called, especially Steak Tank and Elizabeth Lipa.

I also want to thank my grandparents and brother coming over to do a quick birthday celebration.
