It all started simply enough during December of 2015. Chris and Pat had been brewing beer for several years and each had visited hundreds of breweries, so they decided to start a brewery of their own. They teamed up with Mark and Paul and incorporated Dirty Oar Beer Company on January 1, 2016. All of 2016 was consumed by planning, paperwork and creating recipes to open the brewery with. Finally in

January of 2017, work began on the Dirty Oar Beer Company tap room and brewery. The tap room poured its first beers, all guest taps from Florida breweries, on June 30th and beer brewed right at Dirty Oar beer began to flow on August 19th.

🚨 IMPORTANT DIRTY OAR ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

We regret to inform everyone that after 9 years in business…

we are apparently old now. 👴🍺

We learned this Sunday after receiving a 1-star review from our Anniversary Party:

🧑‍🦳 “Lots of old people including the staff.”
🪑 “No where to sit.”

First of all, our thoughts and prayers are with our ancient staff, currently ranging in age from approximately 30 to 60 - Paul's turning 62 soon!! 😵

It’s honestly remarkable they were able to operate the taps without assistance.

Effective immediately, we will be looking into:

Walkers behind the bar
Handrails leading to the b**r taps
Werther’s Originals at every table
A weekly brewery search for everyone’s missing reading glasses

As for there being nowhere to sit…

Yeah. 😂

YOU PEOPLE PACKED THE PLACE.

Hundreds of you came out to celebrate our 9th Anniversary. The brewery was wall-to-wall, the b**r was flowing, people were laughing, and somehow our frail elderly staff survived the entire ordeal.

Barely.

So apparently Dirty Oar is now Cocoa Village’s hottest retirement community.

Come visit us soon.
We have cold b**r.
We have old people.
We may or may not remember why we walked into the cooler.

Yesterday was truly something special.

From the moment we opened until late into the night, Dirty Oar was PACKED! We saw so many familiar faces, caught up with so many of our regulars, and had the absolute pleasure of meeting so many new friends. 🥹❤️

There was A LOT of b**r drank. 🍻
A LOT of shirts found new homes. 👕
Our VIP Brewer’s Bash tickets SOLD OUT. 🎟️
And we even had a few brave souls KICK THE KEG! 💪🍺😂

But honestly… none of that compares to the love we felt yesterday.

YOU showed up for us.
You celebrated with us.
You laughed with us.
You raised a glass with us.
And you reminded us exactly why we love what we do. ❤️

Nine years ago, we opened the doors of Dirty Oar with a dream, a whole lot of hard work, and absolutely no idea where this crazy adventure would take us.

Nine years later, we’re still here because of YOU.

We’re excited to announce that Joe, Ginger and Zymarium Meadery will join us for the second year at the Bash. Their Meads are amazing and not to be missed. Last year we met them in Orlando at their location and tried an anniversary, barrel-aged Mead that was absolutely delicious. I returned to the Oar with three bottles of it! We’re quickly approaching the 5 months away mark and the hits keep on rolling in. “I just want to drink b**r with my friends!”
