Stuffing anything with our sausage is pretty much always a win, and Christina proved that with these stuffed peppers.

Last week we shared stuffed mushrooms, and now Christina sent us her homemade stuffed peppers using Our Ancestors’ Foods sausage, peppers, rice, tomato sauce, and cheese. It is simple, cozy, family-style food, which is exactly the kind of real-life kitchen inspiration we love seeing from our customers.

Thank you, Christina, for sharing this with us. We love seeing how our customers use our meat at home, whether it is a full recipe, a quick dinner idea, a box opening, a cooking video, or just a few pictures of something that turned out great.

This is also a perfect example of our Real Customer Content Creator Program. Send us your photos, videos, recipes, or even just tell us what you loved, what worked, and what you would do differently next time. If we are able to use your content, you will get $10 off your next order.

Real food, real families, real kitchens, and in this case, really good stuffed peppers.

We apologize in advance for any dinners ruined because everyone filled up on these first.

We call them Crack Mushrooms for a reason.

Our family makes them with Our Ancestors' Foods Country Sausage, melty cheese, and mushrooms, and now they're basically required at every holiday.

PSA: if you're one of those weirdos who doesn't like mushrooms, use the same filling in mini sweet peppers, bell peppers, or jalapeños. Meat + cheese + something you can stuff = usually a win.

And if you grabbed sausage or ground beef during our End of Summer Barbecue Sale, this is your reminder that it does NOT all have to go on the grill.

Bonus pics at the end: I simmered the sausage casings into pumpkin soup for extra flavor and depth, and used some of the ground sausage on a pumpkin feta flatbread too.

Comment RECIPE below and we'll DM you the full Crack Mushrooms recipe. And if you want the pumpkin soup or flatbread recipe too, let me know 🎃🥣

Talk About It Tuesday is back... after I may or may not have skipped a couple Tuesdays. 😅 Feel free to call me out. I’m only human, although I’m sure there’s a better system for remembering these things.

This week’s review is from A. Ryan, who ordered a whole pig and had such a great experience that they called themselves customers for life. They also mentioned how much they appreciated the care that goes into raising the animals, which is always something we love hearing.

And the timing on this one is pretty perfect because we currently have some large Boston butt roasts on sale. Maybe you’re not quite ready to order a whole pig like A. Ryan, but this is a pretty delicious place to start. They’re available as an add-on to any of our boxes, and we especially recommend pairing one with our Barbecue Box, which is also on sale for our end-of-summer barbecue special.

So if pulled pork, slow-cooked pork, or one last big barbecue of the season sounds good right about now, this one’s for you. I’ll drop the Boston butt roast link below. And thank you, A. Ryan, for the kind words and for supporting our farm. ❤️

📍 THIS WEEK’S MARKET VENDOR GUIDE IS HERE! 🛍️

We know it might look like we’re taking the easy way out by giving you a link instead of typing out a giant vendor list every week… but there’s actually a reason! 😎

Our weekly vendor guide is interactive! 👇

You can see the actual market layout, find exactly where your favorite vendors will be located, and click on individual vendors to visit their own landing pages. Many of them have added photos, menus, products, social media, and a little more about what they do!

So instead of a giant wall of names that you’ll probably scroll past anyway… you get a clickable map + vendor directory all in one place. 😉

Take a look, make your game plan, and come hungry! 🛍️🍴☕️

We’ll see you at the market! ❤️

Talk About It Tuesday ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Round 5!

This week’s review is from R. Anderson, and we love this one because it’s simple and says exactly what so many of our customers tell us: good meat, good service, and knowing your money is staying with a local business instead of going to a big grocery chain.

Also, keeping a few pounds of ground beef in the freezer at all times? We fully support that decision 🤠👍

Thank you, R. Anderson, for the kind words, the honest review, and the 10/10. We appreciate you!

08/14/2026

Nearly 30,000 pounds of imported beef were just recalled after skipping a required U.S. inspection step. And some of it was headed right here to Florida.

Big beef moves massive amounts of meat through a global supply chain, working to get product onto shelves at prices small local farms are expected to compete with. Then we hear that almost 30,000 pounds of imported beef made it into the country without completing a required reinspection step.

To be clear, this does NOT mean the beef was contaminated or tainted. No illnesses had been reported when the recall was announced.

But that is not really the point. The point is that this is another example of how little control you have over the story behind grocery-store meat.

Where was the animal raised? Who handled it? How far did it travel? Which companies did it pass through? Were all the required steps completed before it reached the shelf?

Most of the time, you simply have to trust that a very long chain of people and companies did everything correctly.

And apparently, sometimes they don’t.

Meanwhile, local farmers are doing the work right here at home. We are raising the animals, paying local processing costs, dealing with rising land and operating expenses, and following the rules every step of the way. Then our beef gets compared to grocery-store meat (moving through a massive global supply chain) on price alone.

We are not trying to be the cheapest beef on the market. We are trying to give you something the cheapest beef often cannot: a direct connection to the people responsible for your food.

This recall does not prove imported beef is bad. It is simply another reminder that when you buy from a grocery store, there can be a whole lot happening behind that package that you will never see.

When you buy from Our Ancestors’ Foods, you know where your beef came from. You know the farm. You know the family. And if you have a question, you know exactly who to ask.
