Although this was a review of the Portales Taco Box, we serve the same great food in the same great atmosphere with the same great smiles in Clovis!

Wow! This place is so good! We stopped for lunch here during a road trip and it was so memorable that we planned a return stop on the way back. The inside of the restaurant is a little dated and the parking is weird (watch out for locals pulling up to the drive-thru). The food was fantastic and the service was exceptional. We stopped just before the lunch rush, which flooded in as we were eating, but the drive-thru was super busy both times. The workers never became flustered and were like well-oiled machine. I had the brisket burrito the first time and the green chile cheeseburger the next visit. Green chiles are a signature New Mexico flavor and I wasn't disappointed. Plus, the Spanish potatoes are tater tots and the are so good dipped in salsa. The coconut tea is good but ungodly sweet. I absolutely hate that I am so far away from this place. It was a highlight of out trip. If you are in the area, you need to find this gem.

Hey, all you international soccer fans! Want to WOW your homies with the BEST Ranch Dressing in the known universe? Look no further than Taco Box in Clovis and Portales, NM. Just take a side trip to our brand new airport (CVN), easily accessible by Denver Air Connect from either Denver or Dallas. Our Ranch Dressing is prepackaged in 1 oz containers so TSA will have no issues with taking them on board. But be careful, the flavor is so good, it probably won't make it home because you will want to dip your FULL SIZED candy bar that you get on your Denver Air flight.
(Or if you are just a Clovis/Portales soccer fan, the best Ranch is available all the time to you. Grab some food and Ranch and watch the USMNT pull of the Miracle on the Pitch-a miracle equal to the Miracle on Ice of 1980)

Dirty sodas? Specialty drinks? The chains are now making a big deal when Taco Box has been making them for a long time. How long you ask? Well, ...since '69! Check out the graphic. YOU, the customer, tell US what to make. Take any drink (or drinks) on the left and combine with any (or as many) of the flavorings on the right and there you have it! Yes, there there is a slight extra charge, but, hey, you are worth it. Come try today and make your drink your own!

It's a sad day at the Clovis Zoo. Read in the ENMNews that Sooner, the tiger was euthanized. Sooner had medical issues and he was put to rest to keep him from suffering.
Here is a picture of Thomas and Tom petting Sooner as a kitten. And he was as playful as a kitten, rolling around and wanting to be petted. OK, so he had longer claws and it hurt a little when he stuck us, but he was cute kitten nonetheless, and like any kitten, just as happy as could be. RIP, Sooner.
