Last night, we sat down the burger smashers and fry baskets to prepare a dinner just for our Seniors.
We have had the fantastic opportunity to have 6 seniors on our team during our first year open. Most of them have been with us since we opened our doors. They really feel like our own- I call them all my little babies even though they mostly tower over me in height .
We will be sad to send them off to college or onto their new careers - but it is truly amazing to see them prepare for the next steps in their lives and to get to have a part in that.
We invited the Cattle Car class of 2026 to dine with us and our manager Jennifer prepared a delicious meal of NY Strip, potatoes, asparagus, spaghetti squash, garlic bread, cheesecake, and salad…. It was delicious.
As we were saying our goodbyes, we thanked them for their hard work and told them that we hoped that one day (when they grow up), they’ll look back on the days they spent with us at The Cattle Car and remember the good old days. We truly wish to leave a positive, lasting memory and impact on our future generation.
Whether they grow to be restauranteurs, electricians (looking at you Seth) & tradespeople, doctors, engineers, or Macy Day Balloon designers, we strive to teach them something - teach them that a job doesn’t just have to be a paycheck - a job should feel like home and your coworkers should feel like family -
Most importantly, we hope they leave here knowing that hard work matters, character matters, and how you treat people matters. The skills they'll learn in college, trade school, or along the way will help them build a career, but kindness, integrity, and showing up for others will help them build a life.
To our Class of 2026, thank you for trusting us with a small chapter of your story. We are incredibly proud of each of you and can't wait to see where life takes you next.
Go chase big dreams. Take chances. Work hard. Be kind. And wherever life leads you, we hope the train tracks of life will always lead you back home to us at The Cattle Car
We'll be cheering you on from Clover.
(And yes, I may have cried a little while writing this)
