Many of you know me from my years at Adelle’s Bluebird Cafe and you might have seen my two little daughters hanging on my side as I cooked from time to time.
Today, I am reaching out to share that recently, my 7-year-old daughter, Ivory, was diagnosed with spinal cancer (Myxopapillary Ependymoma). She has already undergone surgery that removed a 8cm tumor from her lower spinal canal and now faces additional procedures and six weeks of radiation treatment, five days a week.
As many of you know, life can change in an instant. Right now, my focus is on helping Ivory heal, keeping life as normal as possible for her and her little sister, and making the most of our summer together despite the challenges ahead.
Several people have asked how they can help, so I have created a GoFundMe to help with travel expenses to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee, living costs, and the many unexpected expenses that come with caring for a child undergoing cancer treatment.
If you’re able to donate, share, or simply keep Ivory in your thoughts and prayers, I would be incredibly grateful.
Thank you for the kindness and support this community has always shown my family. It means more than I can put into words.
